The Golden Globes Proved The Short Bob Is Here To Stay

While we were spoilt for choice when it came to beauty moments on the Golden Globes carpet, there was one beauty look that emerged as a standout: the short bob.

The 2024 Golden Globes proved that this style is going nowhere. Celebrities graced the red carpet, showcasing a variety of bob cuts that spoke volumes about their versatility and elegance.

What made the bob the highlight of the event was its diversity. From sleek, straight cuts to wavy, textured styles, each version of the bob brought a unique flair to the red carpet. Some celebrities opted for classic, chin-length bobs that framed their faces beautifully, while others went for more daring, cropped versions. Overall, their prominence at the event is a testament to the timeless appeal of this hairstyle.

Here, we break down our favourite iterations of the style.

America Ferrera

America Ferrera’s super-cropped bob looked utterly adorable! Styled in a deep side part with flipped-out ends, her stylist Aviva Jansen Perea accomplished the look with the Dyson Corrale ($699 at JB HI-FI) and Brigeo’s product range.

Emma Stone

Lob hairspo here! Emma Stone rocked her classic red colour in a sleek blowout with bumped ends.

Celebrity hair stylist Mara Roszak used the Root Lift Spray from her own line Roz Hair on damp hair and blow dried in sections with a boar bristle brush to accomplish the look.

Greta Lee

Greta Lee took us back to the 1920s with her stunning flapper-style bob. Her carefully-curled locks were slicked back and styled to perfection, framing her gorgeous Golden Globes glam.

Cailee Spaeny

Oh, how we love Cailee Spaeny’s chin-length bob. Her smooth style was slicked into a deep side part; just look at the adorable finger curls above her ear!

Ayo Edibiri

Globe-winner Ayo Edibiri’s flippy bob was an absolute standout. Sleek on top and flipped at the ends, her stylist Miles Jeffries prepped her hair with the affordable Maui Moisture range, blow-drying it out, straightening the length and using a one inch curling iron to kick out the ends. He sealed the look with a coat of gel on the hairline.

Sheryl Lee Ralph

Sheryl Lee Ralph’s voluminous curly bob was truly unbeatable. That volume and movement? Perfection! Her stylist SheriAnn Cole absolutely nailed the short bob brief, injecting an exciting twist into the style.

  1. Not quite a bob but Jennifer Anniston’s hair was a lot shorter. It looked good. I used to have a bob when I was a teen, a very long time ago, don’t really think it suited me.
