Tracee Ellis Ross Just Released A First-Of-Its-Kind ‘Curl Conscious’ Hair Dryer

A first-of-its-kind anything peaks our interest. Especially when it’s a hair dryer designed specifically for curls, coils and coarse hair textures. Add to that the fact that this heat tool was created by none other than Tracee Ellis Ross. And that it actually just looks incredibly chic.

As the first heat tool in Tracee’s natural hair care line, Pattern Beauty, she described the Blow Dryer ($189, Pattern Beauty) as being a “curl-conscious [tool] that’s professional grade yet easy to use.”

Okay, tell us more.

How did the Blow Dryer come to life?

Much like the inspiration behind every product within the Pattern Beauty range, Tracee’s personal struggle with styling her hair acted as the driving force behind this launch.

“For me, heat unlocked possibility and supported me in finding new and fun choices when my hair was damaged,” she wrote to Instagram.

“It’s been a long time dream of mine to reframe our relationship with heat from a history of submission to a narrative of possibility.”

What can we expect from the Pattern Beauty Blow Dryer?

The Blow Dryer comes with all the bells and whistled required for easy styling and happy hair.

From a cool shot feature to various speed and heat settings, Tracee explained “every [element] was designed with our community in mind.”

And the fun doesn’t stop there. Each dryer comes equipped with four attachments, each intended to deliver a different style and finish.

The diffuser: defines curls, sets finger waves and braids

The concentrator: targets small sections of hair and roots

The wide tooth comb: lifts and volumises curls

The brush: elongates and lengthens

  1. If only this was available 20 years ago. I am too far down the permanent hair straightening road to ever go back to a full head of curls. Glad to see that technology and products are not taking into account curly hair

  2. I haven’t owned a hair dryer for over a decade, but would love to give this one a go. I just find that any kind of air blowing on my hair just creates flyaways and frizziness. I’d like to find one that works as it’s really annoying have to wash your hair 3 hours before going out so it has time to dry naturally!
