If there was ever a better time to shake up your look, its after Katy Perry’s been in town.
The songstress has tried every look under the sun, and even challenges Nicki Minaj in the crazy hair stakes. I’m sure you’ll agree that while most looks are completely unrealistic for those of us with jobs of the 9-5 variety, occasionally she comes out with some gorgeous hair gold – and her appearance at the Sydney premiere of her new flick Part of Me was certainly no exception.
Perry sashayed down the pink carpet in a stunning strapless gold gown, muted rhubarb lip, floor-sweeping lashes (probably thanks to the brand new Eylure Katy Perry Lashes in Oh, My!) and the most vibrant violet locks you ever did see – and I just can’t cut loose from the purple haze I’ve now found myself in!
I simply had to embrace the purple pandemonium, and below I’ve divulged not-so-crazy ways that you can take part
in the trend yourself.
TINT YOUR TRESSES:
Why not go down the Katy Perry path and tint your tresses with a violet hair hue. Already balayaged? Perfect. Simply apply a semi-permanent hair hue like L’Oreal Paris Casting Crème Gloss in Licorice and it will bind itself to your blonde bits like a dream. If you’re rocking a solo hair hue, either tint your ends and random sections of your lengths with a blonde base before applying your purple hair colour, or enjoy a muted version over dark locks.
EYE SEE VIOLET:
Why not showcase a smoky eye with a difference? Instead of the traditional black and grey hues, give your peepers new life by using an array of purple shades that will lift your spirits and succeed in putting a sultry spin on your traditional eye make-up, Katy Perry-style.
