The entire range contains three types of clay: green to purify roots, blue to hydrate lengths and white to revitalise hair. The products are formulated to provide up to 72 hours of fresh, lightweight roots and combat oiliness between washes. There are four products in the range, including the Pre-Shampoo Mask, Re-Balancing Shampoo and Conditioner, and Dry Shampoo.
Most triallers were pleased with the way that the L’Oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Clay Pre-Shampoo Mask drew out oils and impurities in the hair. They also appreciated that it didn’t leave their hair dry and was easy to wash out.
The majority of triallers found that the L’Oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Clay Re-Balancing Shampoo effectively cleansed their hair. They enjoyed that it lathered easily and left their hair feeling lightweight and fresh after each wash.
Most triallers were happy with the hydrating properties of the L’Oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Clay Re-Balancing Conditioner. They found that it effectively moisturised their dry, damaged ends without weighing down their hair.
The majority of triallers appreciated that the L’Oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Clay-to-Spray Dry Shampoo didn’t leave white residue when sprayed into the hair. [Review: Detoxifying.]
[Quote: Let me just start by saying that I love hair masks. I tried this one five minutes before I washed my hair (like it said) and I almost didn’t feel the need to shampoo! The clay texture was thick and stuck to my roots, drawing out any oils & impurities. I feel like it’s taken out some of my (very mild) dandruff too! I followed up with the extraordinary clay shampoo and conditioner as instructed and it turned out great! Overall, it smells great, it makes my hair feel great and I am definitely using this product again.]

[Review: Extraordinary Clay Mask]
[Quote: I’ve never used a clay mask for my scalp! It looks like a regular facial clay mask and has the same texture. The mask washes out very easily and doesn’t leave your scalp or hair feeling too dry, but rather, leaves it feeling fresh. I didn’t mind the sensation as you wait for it to ‘work its magic’. It doesn’t make your scalp itchy or uncomfortable when drying on your scalp, which is important. It’s a nice treatment for a pick me up or if you have very oily hair that is a little bit out of control! I also like that it is quite budget friendly.]

[Review: Lifting & reviving shampoo]
[Quote: I really liked trialling this shampoo. It comes in a great size and it’s easy to use. The smell is ah-mazing and the product felt very light-weight. I would consider it great value for the price.
In general I felt like it cleaned my hair well with a small amount of product. It works well with the conditioner and especially with the clay mask prior to washing the hair. The whole range really impressed me, as I normally only use in-salon purchased products from my hairdresser. My hair looked healthy, it was less greasy at the routes, I washed it fewer times than using my normal products. Especially the clay mask for the roots impressed me – I could already see the lift in the roots and extra curliness of my hair when stepping out of the shower. I have a great shine and my ends look nice as well. I would definitely repurchase this product range.]

[Review: Perfect for Oily hair]
[Quote: The shampoo has a nice fresh fragrance. Only a small amount of this product is needed as it goes a long way! It lathers up very quickly and easily with just a small amount needed. Washing the shampoo out, I could tell from the first wash that my hair was cleaner and less greasy. I’ve used this for quite some time now and overall my hair is cleaner and feels more fresh. It’s definitely made me hair less oily and the appearance of my hair is better. I’ve even washed my hair less than usual thanks to this gem! I haven’t had the need to wash my hair as much as I normally would because this has done a good job at cleaning my hair and removing excess oil. I’ve used this in combination with the products in the range and that may have made a huge difference. I’m definitely a fan!]

[Review: Replacement for my expensive leave in treatment]
[Quote: I absolutely adore this! It will be replacing my $75-a-bottle leave-in mask! Great scent, thick conditioner, you don’t need much to coat the hair and it has done wonders for my dry ends! My usual routine is to condition first, then shampoo, then a small condition again to reduce frizzy ends. With the Elvive clay range, I found I was washing my hair less each week as the dryness of my ends was lessening. I used the conditioner on my ends at the same time as the hair mask on my oily roots. Around 10 minutes with the conditioner on, 5 minutes for the hair mask.
After shampooing everything out, I added a small amount of conditioner as I normally do and used a wide tooth comb to ensure all my knots were gone, as well as to make sure every end was coated well. I finished my routine in the shower before washing the conditioner out. It’s definitely going to be purchased again!]

[Review: Love it!!]
[Quote: I used the conditioner after shampooing ensuring the ends were sufficiently covered. One good squeeze of the bottle was sufficient to cover my long hair. Like the shampoo, the conditioner has a light, fruity-ish scent that I love. I could also smell it once my hair was dry although it wasn’t over-powering. After working the conditioner through my ends, I let it sit for approximately 10 mins before rinsing it out. After shampooing and conditioning, my hair is usually oily at the top and frizzy at the bottom. However, after using both the shampoo and conditioner, once my hair was dry, my roots were noticeably less greasier, more manageable, hydrated and lightweight. This range has breathed new life into my hair. I’m so incredibly impressed with this range and will most definitely repurchase.]

[Review: lovely light spray with good results]
[Quote: I love a good dry shampoo as I tend to have oily roots and dry, damaged ends, so using one in between washes keeps me from feeling I must shampoo every day. I applied this spray to my roots and around the hair framing my face. I left it sit for a minute or so and then brushed it lightly through. I found there wasn’t really much of a scent which I prefer since some sprays can smell a bit weird. It was light yet still heavy enough to mask the oil on my roots. It stayed pretty fresh looking for the day and I find myself using it as often as I can to try and help save my dry ends from over washing. I would strongly recommend this dry shampoo and it’s fairly reasonably priced for what it contains.]

[Review: A refreshing dry shampoo that didn’t leave white residue in my dark hair]
[Quote: Two days after using the Elvive Extraordinary Clay Shampoo and Conditioner, my hair needed a quick, clean boost without having an actual wash. I rarely use dry shampoo as I find they often leave my hair with residue and seem to dry my scalp out so that I get all dandruff-y flakes through my dark roots. I shook the can and sprayed it on, left it for 2 minutes, then brushed it out. The fragrance was the same clean, fresh scent as the shampoo and conditioner without smelling overpowering and letting everyone I came into contact with that day know that I had been using dry shampoo (something I dislike about some other dry shampoos)! After using the product as directed, my roots definitely looked cleaner and it gave me another day without needing to wash my hair. I have dark brown hair and was left with no tell-tale white residue. Definitely my new favourite dry shampoo that I would happily recommend!]
