Lana has taught me a few things over the years. One, to find a man who will love me even when I’m no longer young and beautiful. Two, that it’s ok to be sad, even during summer. And three, that if I ever decide to change my name it should have four sexy sounding syllables so that men and women alike will take great pleasure in saying it out loud. The first thing I think of when it comes to Lana Del Rey is big hair. The 27-year-old sure knows how to pull off a sky-high quiff. Try it at home by tying the top half of your hair up and then backcombing to create height. If you want to get rid of the band, simply cut it off after using lots of hairspray.

Lana is no stranger to winged eyeliner. She hardly ever opts for a subtle flick, but prefers a thick and bold wing. It looks great because it’s so her. Don’t be afraid to break the rules and do your make-up how you want to.

They say blondes have more fun, but does that make brunettes boring? It sure as hell doesn’t! The singer-songwriter can go from an almost black hue, to a mousey brown, to a red undertone in just a matter of months. There are so many shades to explore, don’t limit yourself to the standard brown, blonde and red.

Bandanas, flower crowns, jewelled clips, and headbands – she’s worn them all and wears them well. Accessories are such an easy and temporary way to change up your look, if you get half way through the day and decide you don’t like it, all you have to do is take it out. Just hold off on scrunchies, I’m not so sure about that one yet…
