Kate Middleton Has Single-Handedly Proven That The Bouncy Blowout Isn’t Going Anywhere

There’s one royal mystery that’s continuously on our minds. And no, it’s not what the family actually thought about Spare. What we really want to know is how Kate Middleton’s hair, wardrobe (ahem, who could forget those $30 Zara earrings) and makeup is so consistently perfect.

Considering her beauty regime (among other things) seems to be shrouded in secrecy, it’s unlikely we’ll get answers anytime soon.

However, after a quick glimpse at her day-to-day looks (plus, some guidance from her makeup artist) we know that she’s a fan of both a  bouncy blowout and the L’Oreal Elnett Normal Strength Hairspray ($6 at Coles).

So, if we had to describe her hair in one word? Easy, it would be polished. But don’t just listen to us, take a look at Kate Middleton’s best hairstyles…

Kate Middleton’s best hairstyles

Sleek and shiny

After announcing her engagement to Prince William in 2010, Kate made her official public debut with a glossy blowout. Her effortlessly side-swept bangs framed her smoky, blue-tinted eyeshadow, while her dark brown hair perfectly complemented her sapphire dress (and ring).

Voluminous pony

Have you ever seen a low ponytail with such a healthy serve of high volume? Thanks to some expert teasing and pinning, Catherine’s effortless pony was taken to new heights.

Chic chignon

The then-Duchess truly lived up to her royal status with this chic updo. Her low chignon was offset with all-over volume and a pristinely coiffed side swoop.

Curtain bangs

Princess Catherine had curtain bangs before they were trendy, you heard it here first. Paired with a sleek, loosely curled blowout, she nailed the style before it was in fashion.

Wavy lob

We’re obsessed with Kate Middleton’s shorter hair! Her collarbone-grazing lob gave her hair a renewed sense of vibrancy. This change in length was accompanied by a switch back to dark brown.

Headband halo

What better way to dress up a fresh cut than a statement accessory? Pinned in a half-updo, the royal’s hair was crowned with a maroon padded halo headband.

Wimbledon waves

Kate opted for her signature blowout on the Wimbledon courts in 2019. A deep side part and larger curls set this variation apart.

Breezy and relaxed

This middle-part/relaxed wave combo? Truly elite. While the look is visibly styled, the loose waves exude an air of effortlessness.

Long and straight

You can’t go wrong with a classic straight style. Straying away from her tried-and-true waves, the Princess still managed to stun at Wimbledon in 2022.

Oh, how we love this bouncy hair look! Sleek on the top and loosely curled on the bottom, this style truly shines when it’s in movement.

  1. Oh how I’d love bouncy hair, mine has the bounciness of a pancake. While she probably has all the help she needs, she obviously does have a good head of beautiful, healthy hair.
