Picture this, it’s been a few months since you last topped up your colour (whether it be at the salon or in the sanctity of your own bathroom). It’s not until you idly swan past a mirror and see your once fresh strands looking, well, not what they once were, that you fully come to terms with what you’re dealing with. It’s a devastating realisation but instead of preparing for your next appointment, let us introduce you to: hair toner.
The (most often) ammonia-free, gentler alternative to dye (although natural hair dye does exist) will transform your tone and take it to a whole new level, all while giving your strands a nourishing hit of hydration. If you’re wondering if you need to have dyed your mane to participate in this pigmented journey, nope! You can give your natural strands a wash of toner and take it to a subtler colour tone. Or you could even debut a (celeb-backed) out there colour; cotton candy pink anyone?
Let’s see what transformation your tresses can go through with these hair toners from Priceline…

What does a toner do to hair?
Hair toners tend to be ammonia-free alternatives to hair dye, that work to either colour your tresses on a more superficial level (without penetrating or damaging your strands as deeply). Or they can be used to refresh an altered colour; think removing brassiness or yellow tones. Plus, they add some serious shine to your mane. And who wouldn’t want that?!

Do you dye your hair? Would you use a hair toner?
Great to tone grey hair, if it gets yellow it doesn’t look so good
I dye my hair and I have plenty of greys. Never used a toner but it sounds like a good idea, I wonder what options are for brown hair.
GOOD DYE YOUNG Semi-Permanent Hair Colour is a strange name. Suppose it is catchy.
I am in the process of stopping dying my hair so these could be so good.
I have tried one called milkshake but it is very blue.
Yes I have a purple one which can stain
Haven’t had the need to tone my hair as it’s dark brown and I only colour the roots.
So far I am lucky enough not to have to colour the roots of my hair.
I also colour my roots and it does make it look heaps better than before
I’ve tried toner but did’nt notice much of a difference.
I am determined not to go back to dye after using it for so long but like the idea of enhancing what I have.
I’ll be experimenting with my hair colour this weekend. I hope it turns out okay. 😀
I’ve not heard of a hair toner before
Once I can grow my hair back again after Cancer treatment yes I certainly would use some of those lovely toners.
So many to choose from
yes hard to choose
I use a toning shampoo for my blonde hair to keep the yellow at bay.
Interesting.
Blonde it up sounds nice!
I don’t colour my hair
I love the sound of GoodDye Young but it doesn’t say what colour your hair will end up ?
I’m starting the transition from dyed to grey hair – soudns like this could help.
I’m pretty rigorous about regular salon visits, so I wouldn’t need these.
Sounds good for my grey root areas that I dye. I’d have to research what colour would be best for those areas.
I only color my grey roots.
I don’t dye my hair yet, but I know it wont be long until i will need to
