When you have fine hair, shopping for products can be a minefield.
If your hair is dry you’re scared to buy anything hydrating for fear it’ll weigh it down, and sometimes even products that are supposed to give volume leave it limp and heavy.
To take the guesswork out of shopping for products that add volume to fine hair, we rounded up 10 our favourites that take hair from limp to luscious.

MOROCCANOIL Blow Dry Concentrate

A hero product in Margot Robbie’s killer Golden Globes wavy ‘do, MOROCCANOIL Blow Dry Concentrate (adorebeauty.com.au, $57.95) delivers a smooth blow-out every time. As fine-hair sufferers can testify, a blow-dry can leave it looking frizzy and fluffy rather than the thick and luscious finish we were aiming for. This blow-dry concentrate ensures a smooth, soft and silky blow-out every time.

John Frieda Luxurious Volume Fine to Full Blow-Out Spray

One of the most important tools in a fine-haired person’s beauty kit is their hairdryer. If used properly, a good dryer adds volume to limp locks, leaving it looking luscious and full of life. However, there’s no point spending your time recreating a salon quality blow-out to have it drop out instantly. This is where John Frieda Luxurious Volume Fine to Full Blow-Out Spray comes in. It gives fine hair natural looking volume and long-lasting fullness.

Another vote for the Aveda Scalp Revitaliser. I’ve got very fine hair, but lots of it. Well I did have lots of it until just recently. It’s falling out in huge clumps. Absolutely no idea why.
Aveda Scalp Revitaliser looks fab and I didn't know The Ordinary did a scalp product. Both worth trying for my ongoing hair growth dramas.
How about using a conditioner that doesn’t have too much oil or moisturiser in it?
I really like the Aveda Scalp Revitaliser it helps my hair,
Did not know ordinary did a hair product. I have been using lushes big shampoo and rather like it!
I would love to try the Aveda Scalp Revitaliser
Really would like to try the Aveda Invati Advanced™ Scalp Revitalizer would be great to help with hair fall which I seem to have a lot of at the moment.
I know Pantene bb Creme for hair is also useful
My hair is fine but I have a lot of it, would love more volume and body in my hair.
Didn’t know either that the ordinary did hair products but I’m interested to try Kevin Murphy
My hair is so thick so I don't have this problem but I have heard from other people that they use castor oil to help!
Aveda is very good for volumising hair. I have not tried the other products listed.
Plenty of interesting products.
I have lots of hair, it is very fine…like finest fluff. Just have overdone with free hand highlight/bayalage thing and needed heaps of toning. My hair became so voluminous! Then discovered that Fudge violet Tri-blo gives body and makes my hair look so…big! Also John Frieda volumizer, works too!
Sadly I dont have a trick for more volume. My hair is long and very fine so i could certainly do with some oomph
I love kerastase products they always make my hair feel lovely!
I have a reasonable amount of hair but it is fine and frizzy – I think too many years of colouring have damaged the follicles as it actually grows frizzy. Some of these products look good so long as they are easy to use (lazy). Incidentally just spent a night in a hotel in Canberra and they had Kevin Murphy products!
I have fine hair and many products just dry it out terribly I have to be careful what I use
I'm not convinced about the efficacy of Regaine but the other products look interesting. I've always found Aveda hair products to be of the highest quality.
I don't have any tricks for for volume but some of these products sound seriously good – my favourite being MOROCCANOIL Blow Dry Concentrate.
My hair is fine, and I am fine with that! Having tried other products a long time ago to try to make my hair more full ended with it feeling yuk and heavy, so I have come to love my fine hair now.
I am still not sure how I feel about The Ordinary hair serum. I am not sure it actually works.
I haven't tried any of these.
Big believer in inside out first although I haven't tried most of these.
My hair is fine but there's A LOT of it!
I’d love to try these!
I have thick hair
Another one with fine hair but a lot of it. I have enough volume in my mid-lengths & ends, but I wish my roots were fuller. Sadly I have to be careful with product as it can weigh my hair down & tbh, volumising products haven't really worked for me in the past.
Same here.
I have the worst hair. Thin and fine, oily but dry at the ends. Lately I have been using Eleven's miracle hair treatment with the Oribe maximista, and all I can say is wow! Finally, finally, my hair looks good!
I find mixing a little leave in conditioner into the mousse softens the effect but still works
I haven't tried these, but good to know…
Will be on the lookout for the John Frieda one. My hair is very fine and just looks flat after styling.
My niece has fine hair, she would be interested in some of these products.
I really need to try Aveda.
I have fine hair, but lots of it, so I've never felt the need for products to increase volume.
I like using volume powder. I've used Batiste & Schwarzkopf & they both work well.
love aveda shampoo so I think I will use the conditioner too.
