Hair travel essentials

Going away on holiday is always an exciting time. The thrill of boarding the plane and gallivanting around another country is one of life’s great pleasures.

But do you know what irks me (yes, irks. Hate is too strong a word), about travelling? That I don’t have all my…things…with me. My wardrobe is limited, my make-up is minimal, and I’m left thinking that my locks need to suffer because I simply can’t haul all of my hair essentials overseas.

While I can deal with outfit repetition and using only one type of foundation for two whole weeks, my hair’s appearance is just something I can’t find the strength to sacrifice. And neither should you. So if you want to fight the good hair fight with me, then get hold of these nifty travel-friendly hair products.

1. VS Sassoon Go Travel Hairdryer
If your thought process is, “oh, it’s a travel dryer, it’s not going to be that powerful,” then allow me to stop you right now. Tiny and foldable as it may be, this baby packs a punch and will dry your hair in no time at all. Oh, and it’s dual voltage so you can use it no matter where in the world you go.

2. Cedel Extra Firm Hairspray
Being on holiday doesn’t mean you can’t style your hair; the miniature version of this hairspray will do just the trick to make it much easier to work your hair as you please. Just make sure to pack it into your bag and not keep it in your hand luggage!

3. Lady Jayne Bun Styl’r
A lazy-hair-day is inevitable while you’re travelling, so why not jazz up your tired topknot by using the Bun Styl’r. It’ll look like you’ve actually put in effort, when you’ve done barely anything at all. (Psst: remember that hairspray above? This will help keep your bun in place, too).

4. Batiste Cherry Dry Shampoo
In a hurry to check out the Eiffel tower? Don’t have time to wash your hair before Rome-ing to the Colosseum (see what I did there?). No problem, just spray this beautiful cherry-scented dry shampoo into your locks for instant hair rejuvenation. If you’ve got the space, take the full-sized version or opt for the mini if you want to keep your cosmetics light.

Do you take hair products with you when travelling? What are your travel essentials?
