Call it the Hilary Duff effect (in case you missed it, Hils dyed her blonde hair bright blue in isolation and it looks GLORIOUS), but lockdown definitely has us considering switching up our hair colour game.
And while blonde, red and brunette are always going to be beautiful, you know what’s a thousand times more fun? Pink hair. Or blue hair. Or purple hair that makes it look like you’re auditioning to play Hit Girl in Kick-Ass 3. Basically, any bright, bold shade under the sun.
Because while we know you’re already keeping busy with multiple sheet masks, trying a vibrant new hair hue might also be a fun way to switch things up during social distancing – especially since lockdown offers a rare window of time to experiment freely without your boss’s judgment (FYI, most video chat apps do have black and white filters, if you’re keen to keep your shade switch-up on the DL).
From pink and green to blue and yellow , here are the fabulous fashion hair colours you should test-drive while you can.
I love vibrant colour on other people’s hair. Over the last 2 years, I’ve embraced the greys and my hair is almost snow white. I’m too chicken to use colour now as I’m sure it would “grab” and take ages to grow out.
I have had colourful hair for most of the last 7 years. It's so much fun. I'm trying to decide what colour scheme to do next, thinking maybe peacock colours, if not it will be pink, purple or turquoise or a mixture of two or 3 of them
I would love to go colourful but my daughter has added doubt to the mix. She said I need to be careful because of my rosacea as depending on what colours I use it can make my redness stand out more 🙁
I loved having purple hair for 7 years, I got a lot of compliments and questions, also a lot of weird looks, back then it wasnt common around here, but l am a bit tired of it now, just the ends are purple and eventually it will all be grey/silver.
I'm currently wearing red hair, but it has faded and now I have regrowth of grey hair. Can't go to hair salon for this COVID-19 Lock Down time to redo my hair. I don't think purple would suit my complexion.
I haven't done a bright colour (going copper was bright enough for me!), but I know an older lady who has gone down the bright blue & purple route & I have thought about following her lead once I go fully grey. I think it'd be fun.
One of Pinterest boards is dedicated to amazing hair. I wish I had more courage to do something adventurous with mine…pink highlights or dark tips with platinum blonde mane. I love the purple in the photo above.
Love the Colours on other people it has taken me years to have the courage to stop colouring my hair and let it go just naturally grey.
With black hair, the bleaching and colouring is just too much for my poor hair. I'll get a colourful wig if/when I go through my mid life crisis. 😀
Lockdown has me seriously thinking about colouring my hair at home :/
I've never done it. was tempted to experiment, but I like my hair as it is and just playing with boring freestyle highlighting.
I do colour my hair but I stick to a colour close to my natural colour to hide greys. I’m not brave enough for bright colours.
I love these colours but not on me 🙂
The wash out colours are fun!
Thought I was brave with dark roots and blonde highlights! I love that purple!
Not for me, I'm not brave enough.
This looks so good!
This looks so good!
I love the unicorn hair in the picture, but don't quite think I could pull it off.
I love colour and did experiment with purples, reds and blonde once, I'm happy now with blonde caramel highlights.
Such a brilliant colour
I love pravana vivids in violet – lasts ages
I do actually love the above pink/purple combination.

Feel like I am too old for this, but do like some of the pastel colour shades.

Love the look but I would need to bleach my hair and that's something I'm too scared to try at home!
Love all these bright colours 🙂
Not for me thanks.

I love the red as well as the purple in hair, feeling inspired to have a play.
I don't like vibrant colours for my hair.
Not for me.

Just washing and let it dry naturally whilst at hone with lots of leave in conditioner
I used to have coloured hair and found Manic panic lasted the longest and gave the most vibrant colour – it does stain the hair though so beware.
I'd love to dye my hair a crazy colour but I've never died my hair period!

I would love red and pink together.
