We’re only three months into 2021 and Garnier has already added to its impressive 2020 accomplishments and further cemented itself as a leading change-maker in the beauty industry.

Last year saw the launch of Garnier’s Green Beauty initiative, an end-to-end approach to sustainability where every value chain stage was transformed and the brand’s environmental impact was significantly reduced. And by 2025, the brand has pledged to use 100 per cent recyclable, reusable or compostable packaging.
This year, however, – after setting their sights on going cruelty-free – the brand has earned the universally recognised Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny logo on every single product, across all 64 countries they are sold in.
To qualify for the Leaping Bunny programme, brands must work side by side with Cruelty Free International to forensically investigate their supply chain, down to every last raw material or individual ingredient.
@garnierau
In Garnier’s case, this was more than 3,000 different ingredients from across the globe and over 500 different suppliers, with a mammoth 1.8 billion products produced every year.
Speaking of the rigorous process, CEO of Cruelty Free International, Michelle Thew, said: “It has taken many months, but Garnier have diligently reviewed every supplier and source and we are completely confident with the results.”
Echoing Michelle’s statement was global brand president Adrien Koskas, who revealed this goal was not something that came about overnight. “Garnier has been committed to a world against animal testing since 1989. To be officially approved by Cruelty Free International under the Leaping Bunny programme is a real milestone and was always an important part of our Green Beauty mission”
“Today Garnier takes another Green step towards becoming a fully committed, truly sustainable, transparent brand that delivers Green Beauty for all of us.”
Congratulations to Garnier who are officially one of the largest global brands to ever be certified under the Leaping Bunny programme.

I’m Currently using Essano all natural deodorant and I love it. I love all natural products they smell wonderful
This is awesome. Well done, Garnier
That’s great.
I was surprised to see that some of my garnier products were made in China. I didn’t know you could manufacture products in China and be cruelty free.
Amazing Garner, I recently found out the Aveda shampoo, conditioner and leave in treatment are tested on people not animals. Amazing!
Yes congrats to Garnier! I have some of those green packaged products – love the looks of the packaging as well as what it stands for.
This is great
Garnier really is an awesome company that is often under rated by many. Im actually using Garniers Green Tea Cleanser at the moment. Its for use in the shower. I love the smell.
It was the packaging that originally drew me to this but also the impression that the packaging gives – that it’s a more natural product range than the original garnier products. I love the pictures of the plants – so botanical!
Sounds great!
Awesome news!
Yes, this is the Green beauty I like- sustainable beauty!
Good to hear!!!
This is good, Garnier is an affordable brand which is important as it can be hard to be ‘green’ when it empties your bank account.
That’s great to hear, now every other brand needs to do the same!
Great to hear
Well done Garnier!
Thats great news and must have been hard work and a lot of negotiating.
Oh yes! My whole diet is completely cruelty free too. Some beauty products may not be (unsure of all of them). Great of Garnier to go this route. Soon all beauty products will be.
Great news!
Good to see.
Well done, Garnier, very impressive
This is awesome!
Great news, hopefully more companies will follow suit
This is so good!
Good to know thank you BH.
This is GREAT! Let’s face it, there are so many natural and cruelty-free, and environmentally friendly products out there now, it shows that it’s really not necessary to test on animals just so we can have a face cream … I hope all companies go down this path. I make an effort to buy cruelty free products and hope it becomes mainstream so there will be no market for companies who do experiments on animals.
I use Garnier Organic Argan Hydrating Mist each morning on my face & neck straight after my shower. Very refreshing and a great way to lock in moisture.
What great news! Go Garnier I’m proud to use some of your products
I’m keen to try their vegan range which I saw the other day.
This is a great new initiative by Garnier. I’m also impressed by their pledge to move towards 100% recyclable, reusable or compostable packaging.
This is so important – Garnier is a massive player in the cosmetics game, and the trend they’ve set will hopefully encourage others.
I like Garnier products and this is an added incentive to purchase their products. Thanks Garnier
YAY, so glad to see this! Great to see major companies committing to ethical change.
It’s great that such a large brand was able to do this.
Great news. Does this apply to all L’oreal companies or just Garnier? I’ve boycotted the lot of them for years because of they still tested on animals. And are they palm oil free as well?
Excellent news! I’m happy that such an affordable brand has been able to go green
Great Questions, I would like to know this as well
Well done Garnier. Great move forward.
I think almost everyone has something from Garnier in their beauty stash.
This is great news and about time other companies followed suit. It starts from the top!
Excellent news and I do use beauty products that are cruelty free. Well done Garnier!
Congratulations to a fabulous brand.
Well done Garnier!
Nice! Respect to Garnier!
This is great news for a popular global brand!
This is awesome! Hopefully more brands follow their lead. Great job.
I only use cruelty free, this is great news!!!! I love cruelty free products that don’t break the bank
Awesome news because I’ve always been a huge fan of theirs and even much more now
Good on them.
