Do you know your supermarket etiquette?

Is that wrong? Are we stealing?

New research conducted by haircare brand Herbal Essences says Aussie women are divided about what’s acceptable behaviour when shopping at your local Coles, Woolworths or Aldi. They discovered almost one million women across our country are confused about what constitutes acceptable supermarket etiquette, with 80 per cent of those surveyed apprehensive about opening a beauty product like shampoo or conditioner to smell it first.

In a bid to educate women about what is ‘good’ and ‘bad’ supermarket behaviour, Herbal Essences is encouraging shoppers to ‘Crack the Cap’ and smell the ‘scents you can’t forget’ before adding them to your trolley.

Herbal Essences spokesperson Eunice Tan says they want “Aussies to feel liberated to ‘Crack the Cap’ before buying their shampoo and conditioner, and really explore and discover the right scents for them.” She also advises that customers “crack the cap responsibly”.

So the next time you’re in the beauty aisle of your local supermarket, don’t be afraid to try before you buy.
