Does Demi Moore Use Hair Extensions?

Does Demi Moore Use Hair Extensions

It feels as though every time we’re excited about a celebrity hair transformation, we soon realise there was a wig or set of extensions involved.

Nicole Kidman’s luscious locks for Vanity Fair? A wig. Jennifer Lopez’s hip-length mermaid waves? Extensions. And look, we can understand why. Trying to grow your hair out without split ends or mass breakage is no easy task. So can you blame us for having our doubts every time we see Demi Moore’s jet black, shiny, mile-long hair?

Thanks to an Instagram post shared by the actresses hair stylist, Gregory Russell, it turns out that we owe Demi a formal apology for ever suspecting her of wearing extensions as he captioned the post with a clear answer:, “Yes, that is all her own gorgeous hair.” And just like that, we’re equal parts envious and obsessed

How does Demi Moore take care of her hair?

Unfortunately, Gregory didn’t reveal all his secrets. So, for those of you following along at home this is how to recreate Demi’s iconic glossy locks.

Thankfully, the actress shared a few of the products she uses in her hair routine in an interview with InStyle.

“I try to keep a really simple program,” she told the publication. “I’m kind of a lazy man and I don’t like things to get too complicated.”

“I’m a diehard Kevin Murphy Hydrate-Me Wash ($46.95 from Oz Hair & Beauty) and Hydrate-Me Rinse ($47.95 from Oz Hair & Beauty) person,” she revealed.

The smoothing and hydrating duo are both infused with antioxidant-rich ingredients, which prevent moisture loss and promote a healthy glow.

As for styling, Dimitris Giannetos — the hairstylist responsible for Demi’s hair at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards — shared that he used just two products in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar.

“Demi was wearing a gold Armani Privé gown at the event and so to tie in with that I wanted to keep her hair classic old-Hollywood, while at the same time being ethereal and effortless,” Dimitris told Harper’s Bazaar.

After towel-drying Demi’s hair, Dimitris applied Moroccanoil Root Boost ($54.50 from Oz Hair & Beauty) for added volume at the scalp.

Then he blow dried Demi’s hair with a round brush. Simultaneously spritzing it with a texturising spray to give it some depth.

After her hair was fully dry, Dimitris curled the hair in different directions using a curling wand. Then he brushed through the hair to give the curls a more natural drop.

To finish, he misted Demi’s strands with the Moroccanoil Luminous Hair Spray Strong ($45.50 from Oz Hair & Beauty). The strong hold spray helps to minimise flyways and secure a style for hours.

As for reducing split ends while maintaining length, we recommend speaking to your hairdresser about the trimming technique, ‘hair dusting’.

  1. She does have lovely hair. If I hadn’t cut mine for the 4th time in a year a couple weeks ago it might be that long too. I have much denser hair than hers appears to be so it gets extremely heavy when it is that long. I am currently keeping it at mid back length so I have lenght without so much weight. I do agree that you need to really look after it and keep it healthy if you want to grow it long. Trying to not do too much heat styling is always good too.
