A long way from her sleek blonde locks, Charlize Theron has just debuted her latest hair ‘do via Instagram and we can already hear the faint cheer from redheads worldwide.
The makeover, inspired by Charlize’s role as Lady Lesso in the upcoming Netflix film, The School Of Good And Evil, has taken her from sandy bob to fiery, crimson curls, and we love it.

Dressed in a shirt, novelty-sized tie and showing off a dark silver metallic manicure, Charlize shared a behind-the-scenes teaser all the way from the set in Northern Ireland. As for the image’s explanation, the actress kept it simple, captioning the shot “ain’t no rest for the EVIL can’t wait for you all to meet Lady Lesso”.

Echoing her excitement is co-star Kerry Washington, “the MOST phenomenally evil. You are amazing LL”. Kerry is set to play Charlize’s on-screen bestfriend, Professor Dovey the Dean of Good.

And this isn’t the first time Charlize has been totally unrecognisable for a role. Who could forget her chilling transformation into serial killer Aileen Wuornos for the Academy Award winning film ‘Monster’ where she gained a rumoured 13kg and wore prosthetic teeth with two bleached brows to match. A far cry from the Charlize we are used to.
Unlike her role in Monster, this is a transformation we wish Charlize would keep around. Sadly for us, we suspect the latest look by hairstylist Adir Abergel is only a wig. But fingers crossed Charlize feels as attached to her new red curls as we already do.
While we don’t have an exact release date as of yet, the film is set for release sometime in 2022.
