Although some might argue that not all shampoos are made equal, we would have to disagree.
There are just as many quality shampoos to be found in your local supermarket and chemist as there are in the hair salon.
Whether you’re looking to volumise fine strands or treat a stressed scalp, your local chemist has the goods to tide you over at a mere fraction of the price for what one might expect to spend on a similar hair product that comes with a hairdresser recommendation.
In fact, we’ve taken the liberty of rounding up the best drugstore shampoos on the market. Ahead, you’ll find six shampoos under $22 that’ll keep your hair looking its best without compromising your weekly budget.

What’s your favourite drugstore shampoo?
Sukin is my go to shampoo brand
I remember when shampoos used to be quite cheap, now if you want to buy a special one they can be quite expensive.
I agree Normap -everything is getting so expensive.
Sukin at the moment
I have had so many good shampoos from the supermarket.
Shea Moisture, I guess Priceline can be classified as a Drugstore
I’m using the Growth Bomb Supercharge shampoo and conditioner atm. Generally I can get away with using an average shampoo as long as I’m using a great conditioner. It’s the conditioner that makes all the difference in the end for me.
I’ve used a few pharmacy/supermarket shampoos but my go-to shampoos are salon brands.
My go to shampoo is Dermal Therapy
Great product
I’m not tried their shampoo or conditioner. Sounds good!
Some great choices in the supermarket now
I would use any or all of these shampoos
I’ve been happy with other Dermaveen products but haven’t tried their shampoo before
Dermaveen shampoo looks like something id go for usually
I’m not generally a supermarket shampoo kinda gal, but the OGX one looks interesting.
Growth Bomb sounds good. So does that new Elvive one.
I would love to try Dermaveen as i am currently experiencing dry and flaky scalp.
I tried Hairification recently. Not bad.
