Aveeno Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo
The Aveeno Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo works to soothe and clarify a dry scalp while adding shine and gloss to otherwise dull hair.
During their initial assessment, members of the Trial Team admitted to being mildly hesitant about the thought of using vinegar in their hair, not quite convinced that this would be an ingredient that would produce the soft, shiny result they were hoping for. However, after one use, they were pleased to see the way in which the shampoo lathered into a silky consistency, had a delicate scent and left their scalp feeling thoroughly clean, fresh and moisturised.
Thanks to the rich and clarifying nature of the formulation, members who previously felt they had to shampoo twice to keep their itchy, oily scalps under control, shared their delight in discovering they could drop down to just one wash and still end up with the same result.
While it was noted that combing wet hair was a little difficult, once towel-dried, members noticed a significant reduction in frizz and flyaways. A benefit that they felt far outweighed a smoother comb-through.
All in all, members were impressed. Product build-up was easily removed, a little product went a long way, and overall the shampoo was easy to use and effective in its results — a welcome addition to their haircare routine moving forward.
Aveeno Apple Cider Vinegar Conditioner
Working in tandem with the shampoo, Aveeno’s Apple Cider Vinegar Conditioner nourishes lacklustre hair and boosts shine.
As far as conditioners go, members praised Aveeno’s latest formulation as being one of the thickest and creamiest. Though it thoroughly coated each strand of hair, the rich consistency was still easy to rinse out and didn’t leave any lingering residue.
The results? Strong, healthy and glossy locks, with frizz that was tamed even when members of the Trial Team allowed their hair to air-dry without any help from masks, oils or heat tools.
As far as supermarket haircare products go, members rated this as one of their favourites. Thanks to the affordability and effective results, it was widely agreed that both the shampoo and conditioner were going to be a permanent addition to their routines moving forward.

“I could smell the scent in my hair for quite some time whilst damp and also whilst drying. Once dry, my hair felt clean and light – it was not weighed down at all – but I also felt as though it wasn’t as oily as normal.” – Pammie2083, read more reviews…
“After several applications throughout the period I found my hair to be fresh and well balanced. No itchy scalp. Hair seemed cleaner and no oily feeling or smell. Glad to use this product moving forward with possibly trying the series for family suitability.” – DEMELZA20, read more reviews…
Aveeno Apple Cider Vinegar Conditioner
“I love the packaging of this product it a clear bottle which helps to keep track of how much product you have left to use and it also have a flip open and close lid which makes it much easier to use the product when washing your hair. This product is very budget friendly and is easily available in local supermarkets and drugstores.” – Sue796, read more reviews…
“This thick, creamy, and nourishing product not only gave an incredible shine to my hair, but brought a new lustre to it as it seemed to give it a new boost by taking care of it from the inside too. It lasted all the way through to the next wash too.” – Tegan683, read more reviews…
“The conditioner does it’s job perfectly. It makes the hairs moisturiser and minimise the frizz and the hair look really healthy and shiny after every wash. The range suits my hair very well and I am very pleased with these products.” – Maryan Naeem, read more reviews…
Funny how a person who I’ve reported for points racking by doing 200 reviews over a 2 day period and hasn’t got the trial team ticked on their review had their review featured in this article. Bh replied to my email and said they would look into this a while back now.
200 reviews? I bet it’s copy and paste from somewhere else.
Oh wow 200 reviews in 2 days?! That’s crazy
Funny how BH publish them though
Yep, disappointing, and ruins reputation of site and all reviews and trials 🙁
They also replied the same to me and I went to great pains to link them to all the original sources of some of the reviews she copied from. I have also now provided in these comments a link to where she copied her review from for this product below.
Ethelinde: it’s so disheartening – to say the least! – when members (no, we’re “customers” now) go to a lot of effort on this site, seemingly to no avail!
I agree, it is so disappointing and disheartening. 🙁
What 200 reviews!! I dont even have 200 products.
Love the bottle colour. I used the oat duo and still have another set to get trough. My hair likes them =)
Yes they look very interesting
Sounds interesting and something I would try.
Yes interested in giving them a try.
Sounds good. I’ve tried a few Aveeno products and like all of them. Not tried Aveeno shampoo though
I’ve been really impressed with the Aveeno products I’ve dried but they have all been sensitive body products, didn’t realise they had a haircare range too
I haven’t tried them but would like to
Hubby could use these.
Hi, my hubby ised them too, and said they were great, his hair felt cleaner than ever
I used Aveeno shampoo before, but the apple cider vinegar one, does anyone know if it’s safe for coloured hair?
Hello. I colour my own hair at home, and yes it was absolutely fine for coloured hair, i found it gave my hair a real good deep cleanse which it regularly needs as i use a lot of styling products
Good to know that it’s safe for coloured hair SAE.
This sounds like something I would use! Great reviews everyone
I’d be a bit hesitant about putting apple cider vinegar in my hair too. Sounds like a good trial to be on
I have heard of vinegar, but not apple cider. Is there a difference?
Great sized bottles for the bathroom
This looks like it would be worth a try.
I have used these they smell amazing and I really loved how they left my hair feeling ♡♡ wasn’t on this trial team though, just saw in the shops. Very decent haircare range
I will have to look out for this
Yes it was great for a deep cleanse wasn’t it?
This duo sounds pretty good
Interesting – sounds like vinegar is better used topically than ingestion – my teeth always feel weird after I have a salad with a vinegar dressing on it!
I’m interested to see if this would work for my hair
looks like it would be good to try
Congrats to those on this trial, keen to try this range as I was on the Aveeno Fresh Greens Blend trial.
Very disappointing to see the user I reported for copying reviews by other users on other websites as her own on BH and racking up points this way has been quoted in this trial article. Are you kidding? BH, you told me you would look into this and now I understand your position.
Proving my point, her review that you have now quoted verbatim was obtained from the Walmart website for the same product: https://www.walmart.com/reviews/product/855377120 (originally posted by user “Patty K”). This is outrageous behaviour!
I was on the trial team for the Aveeno Oat range and didn’t like it at all. It was really bad.
This sounds really nice and apple cider vinegar is meant to be an excellent cleansing product
Sounds like an interesting ingredient combination. I think vinegar would definitely help with a scalp cleanse. Good to know it has a nice scent to it. Thanks for sharing.
I can’t use the apple cider vinegar one but I do use the Aveeno Oat one and I absolutely love it for my hair. Just please don’t take it off the market as it is so hard for me to find a sulphate free shampoo that actually works for my hair. Wish they sold it in Coles though, have to go to Woolies to buy it.
Apple cider vinegar is versatile
Thanks so much for the Wonderful Reviews from Beauties, Apple Cider Vinegar is an old fashioned method I have often poured some info a bucket of water to rinse my hair with it.
My husband absolutely loved this shampoo and conditioner too
Ooo I currently use this shampoo! However have not had the same results as the trial team though and I find the smell funky. I might need to leave my own review.
Good to have honest reviews with both good and bad results.
You have possibly used longer than the review time so your review would be interesting for the longer term use
Interesting, I’ve not seen this before. I’ll keep an eye out for them in shops.
Very helpful reviews, I would like to give these a try.
Apple cider vinegar shampoo I have never heard before.
As a kid we used to condition hair with vinegar!
Interesting, i haven’t seen this product on the shelf yet
The packaging for the Aveeno shampoo range is very attractive and a big contrast compared to the boring body lotion. This definatley makes me want to buy and try.
I’ve been wanting to try this. I used to do a homemade hair rinse of ACV, lavender essential oil and warm water, and would get so many compliments about how shiny my hair was. Sadly I’ve forgotten the ratios now 🙁
I have tried to purchase the Aveno Apple Cider Vinegar shampoo and conditioner but unfortunately my local Wollies has sold out so will have to wait for more to come. I have heard that a vinegar rinse will make your shine, I haven’t given it a go. As I do wash my hair every other day and always shampoo twice so will be very pleased to try it:))
I really got interested when I read the comment that it made hair less brassy.
I like Aveeno but I’m completely happy with my hair products.
As a kid, mum used to wash our hair in vinegar
yes last rinse was always vinegar for shine
I liked the reviews for this product but haven’t found it to purchase yet -sounds really worth buying
I really like apple scented hair products 🙂
I wonder if the apple cider strips hair colour as it is quite acidic
