The Exact Products Anne Hathaway’s Hairstylist Uses For Voluminous, Bouncy Hair

Anne Hathaway frequently sports some of the most glamourous red carpet hair and makeup looks in Hollywood. But when you consider that the actress is lucky enough to have celebrity hair stylist Adir Abergel on speed dial, it’s not difficult to see how she’s able to whip out look after look.

Just this weekend Anne and Adir partnered up for the SAG and Independent Spirit Awards ceremonies to create two hairstyles that were iconic and effortless. For the SAG Awards Adir styled a ’90s supermodel blowout that “exude[s] ‘bombshell’ and confidence”, and a wavy “super relaxed and very ’70s—like undone Jane Birkin” inspired hairstyle for the Independent Spirit Awards, he told Glamour.

How to: Anne Hathaway’s SAG Awards Supermodel Blowout

“The look is anchored by a middle part with height, right at the crown, and is accented with face-framing bangs, [and] beautiful cascading movement. The hair is full of volume and bounce—and feels luxe,” Adir explained to the publication.

To achieve the desired finish he prepped the hair using a handful of products from Virtue Labs: the R Recovery Damage Reverse Serum ($87 from Sephora) and Full Volumizing Mousse ($57 from Sephora).

He then roughly dried Anne’s hair with the Shark FlexStyle ($499 from Sephora) and used the air styler’s Auto-Wrap Curlers to create a classic barrel curl, which he set and pinned in place in sections.

Adir let the hair cool and then he brushed Anne’s curls out with a Mason Pearson brush and applied Virtue Labs Healing Oil ($64 from Sephora) to enhance the shine of her hair.

Finally, he backcombed the crown of Anne’s hair to create a mini beehive and set it with Virtue Labs Create Texturizing Spray ($57 from Sephora).

How To: Anne Hathaway’s Jane Birkin Waves

To create Jane Birkin waves Adir utilised Anne’s natural hair texture with a gentle blowout that had “soft bangs with a natural wave that cascaded with a carefree flair, reminiscent of ’70s flower child vibes,” he told Glamour.

Adir used Virtue Labs Create Volumizing Primer ($54 from Sephora) on the roots of Anne’s hair and then roughly dried her lengths.

“I then took a big round brush and blow-dried the bangs first, tucking them under to add softness to the ends,” he explained. “I then blow-dried the rest of the hair around a large, round boar-bristle brush.”

To finish he combined Virtue Labs Healing Oil ($64 from Sephora) and Virtue Labs Create 6-In-1 Styler ($50 from Sephora) and applied them to the mid-lengths and ends of Anne’s hair. Then he created “a very slight bend with a two-inch curling iron to give it a little bit more of a natural feeling,” he said.
