Baby, it’s cold outside. And that can only mean one thing. Yep, it’s the arrival of blistering cold winter (brr). Sure, the freezing cold temp is not exactly something we’re enjoying, but it does mean one very exciting thing… We can crack out the winter perfume.
There’s something just so nice about rotating our fragrance wardrobe each season to reflect the atmosphere. And when it comes to winter, we’re after warming, cosy and snuggly kinds of feelings from our signature scents (it’s not too much to ask, we don’t think). So, we look for the likes of vanilla, spicy and woody (think the ever popular sandalwood) scents.
Interested? Let’s get warmed up with the cosiest winter woody fragrances…

YSL L’Homme EDP
From $178 at YSL Beauty
Woody scents do come across as quite traditionally masculine. And TBH, we’re very behind the unisex scent, and if you are too this (classic ‘mens’ cologne) will be the spritz to turn heads. It’s bold and impactful and if you don’t mind telling people you’re wearing a cologne (because it smells so good they’re bound to ask), then the bold notes of vetiver and tonka bean are calling your name.

Do woody perfumes last longer?
No you’re not dreaming it, some scents seem to linger longer than others. And as much as we’d love to tell you that your fresh fruity fragrance can last forever, it’s just not going to happen. Because heavier notes like wood are just stronger in nature, you’re going to be able to smell them for longer on your skin. Warming and lasting seems like a combo made in fragrance note heaven.

The Le Labo Santal 33 at $544.36 from Amazon Australia is a very expensive perfume and I for one will never be spending this amount on a perfume.
