Victoria Beckham has well and truly established a name for herself independent of her famous footballer husband. But the ex-Spice Girl, designer and founder of Victoria Beckham Beauty’s recent fragrance launch shows he is still very much at the forefront of her mind.
Designed to be shared with your special someone, the trio of unisex luxury fragrances are an ode to key moments in Victoria and David Beckham’s 25-year-long relationship. And yes, they both wear them.
In fact, Victoria told Harpers Bazaar she didn’t expect David to wear the fragrances. “He normally wears Tom Ford, Byredo, Dior,” she said. But she was pleasantly surprised when he just started spritzing them of his own accord.
“Over the summer, my husband started wearing them off his own back,” she explained. “He’s not the kind of guy that’s just going to wear something to make me feel good about it. David wears what he wants, because he likes it. And I think that’s a big compliment – you know, he has access to the best of everything.”
The scents sit alongside Victoria Beckham Beauty’s well-stocked stables of cosmetics, but Victoria has actually been working on the fragrances for the past eight years (read: before the launch of VB Beauty in 2019), alongside master perfumer Jérôme Epinette (the nose behind several of Byredo’s best-selling perfumes).
With Jérôme’s help, Victoria began the “intense” and “personal” journey of creating a fragrance line that told “mine and David’s love story”.
“It was quite an emotional experience – fragrance is emotional, [because] it’s very honest,” she said.
Victoria Beckham Beauty Suite 302
Suite 302 ($280 at Selfridges) is a sensual time capsule. It celebrates the memory of Victoria and David Beckham’s vow renewal in 2004.
The heady, sensual nighttime scent opens with centifolia rose, midnight violet and narcotic musk flower. It bears a heart of papyrus, patchouli fraction, labdanum absolute and black leather. The dry down; a smoky base of black cherry, midnight violet, and tobacco leaf.
“For me, my perfect date night scent is Suite 302. It’s quite a sensual fragrance,” Victoria said. “It’s the heaviest of the three. It feels quite mysterious, quite sexy. So I would wear that on date night or if I was wearing a tuxedo.”
Victoria Beckham Beauty San Ysidro Drive
San Ysidro Drive ($280 at Selfridges) is the fragrance Victoria wears every day. It’s inspired by the couple’s move to Los Angeles and California’s wellness scene. The opening is a greeting of pink saffron, passion fruit and coffee beans. Frankincense, centifolia rose absolute and pink peony lie at the heart. While base notes of agarwood, crisp amber, and vanilla beans linger long after application.
“It’s nice for during the day, since we’re not quite in winter yet,” she told Harpers Bazaar. “But, you know, you could also mix them as well.”
Victoria Beckham Beauty Portofino ’97
Portofino ’97 ($280 at Selfridges) is a window into the early stages of Victoria and David’s connection. The couple shared a secret rendezvous on the Italian coast before news of their relationship went public.
“When we’re in Miami, both myself and David wear Portofino ’97, because it’s quite a summery, fresh feel.”

Would you ever share a fragrance with your significant other?
That’s lovely, they’ve stayed married too, which isn’t common for celebrities.
It sure isn’t these days
ooh I hope he loves it
Timed it just after they launched their Netflix doco. No personal interest in this though.
Haha, I haven’t watched the doco but I heard it doesn’t paint David in the best light.
MMMM !!!
It seems like he’s taken to the fragrances. Hubby and I don’t share the same fragrances at all.
I like some of my partners and share his but not the other way
I wouldn’t mind sharing my fragrance with my husband but he would never want to use mine. I just finished watching Davids documentary, such a sweet family
Same here !!
I am in the middle of the documentary, just so awful for a young man to have to go through such hate. Lovely that she stood by him.
Yeh beautiful inside and out
I wanna smell it
No we don’t share the fragrances, we like different things.
I’d feel weird sharing a fragrance with someone I’m dating.
I sometimes wear my partners fragrances -why not !!
I don’t think my husband would like to wear the same perfume as I do – too floral.
Me neither, Mine are too girly.
Sounds like a nice tribute to her husband.
Ya, i share perfumes too.
Love the notes and bottles of these perfumes! Want to sniff immediately!
Love the different coloured containers.
Love the Portofino bottle.
Probably wouldn’t share with my partner. I love really girly sweet scents.
The bottles look so elegant!
Yes. Sometimes when we are going together.
There are so many good perfumes already on sale and at these prices they are competing with a lot of top brands.
They are a bit more luxurious than the first ones they put out. They were around $45 from memory.
They must be really good yeh, her stuff is high quality, but I do believe he loves he so much he really was using it over the other brands just because he knows how to love his wife♥
I think it must be a great fragrance. I really would like to get it for my menfolk.
Most woman’s perfumes are not so unisex but a lot of the male woody scents are lovely for both.
