What type of fragrance is best for spring?

Fruity fragrances and floral perfumes are the most popular category of personal scent in spring. But as scent is so personal, if you prefer a perfume with a more gourmand flair or something that reads as green and herbaceous, that can work for spring too. We’d just recommend steering clear of heavy or rich fragrances that you’d typically wear in winter, as these scents project more and can start to become overpowering as the weather warms up.

What are spring-like scents?

If you’re looking for a spring time scent and don’t know what to look for, we suggest paying close attention to the fragrance notes of the perfume in question. Rose, lavender, jasmine, peony, gardenia, neroli, lily and other notes from the floral fragrance family are all synonymous with the season. But if you prefer a sweeter perfume then a fruit-led scent might be a better option for you (try: citrus, stone fruit and berry notes). Alternatively, fresher scents will bear aquatic or green notes like sea salt and cut grass.

  1. Clains Eau des Jardins sounds nice at first but there are too many scents going on there for me. I prefer the sound of Vanessa Megan’s Monarch and Hermetica’s Peonypop
