Martha Stewart has made some shocking revelations in her time (remember when she claimed to ditch underwear?). But she’s just made another that has us a bit shook. When we think of Martha, we picture perfectly arranged flowers, copious baked goods and a heap of flickering candles.
And we weren’t technically wrong. Speaking with Allure Martha spoke about all the beautiful antique candles and votives she has in her house. But it turns out, she doesn’t “use scented candles in (her) house”. Surprising, right?
Martha Stewart Candles
But like we just said, Martha does loving having a candle lit, and we can only imagine she likes to light them with her very own BIC collab (unavailable in Australia, but the classic EZ Reach lighters can be found for $5.95 at Coles).
Her go to candle of choice? Anything beeswax (try the Beeswax Solid Pillar Candle $41.95 at Biome). Why? Because in her house, they’re “a family of natural scent”. And Martha listens to her family’s thoughts on scents. Because it turns out her very favourite fragrance that she used to always wear is one that her “grandchildren don’t like”.
Martha Stewart Favourite Fragrance
Don’t worry, we did some digging, and there’s still hope for Martha. Her granddaughter has started “liking perfumes all of a sudden”, so maybe she’ll be able to give herself a spritz again. The scent in question?
Robert Piguet Fracas Eau de Parfum
Turns out Martha has great taste, because this signature scent was actually inducted into the Fragrance Foundation hall of fame. Loved by the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Brigitte Bardot, this scent was literally formulated for the wearer to feel like a bombshell. And that’s something we can definitely get behind.
