There’s nothing more annoying than being all glammed up for a night out only to realise that your fave bottle of perfume is empty. If you want to avoid this irritating situation – and save a few dollars at the perfume counter too – try these simple tricks for doubling the life of your perfume.
Store it right
Leaving your perfume bottle in direct sunlight is a total no-no. The heat of the sun will cause your fragrance to evaporate twice as quickly as usual. For optimum longevity, keep your fragrances stored in a cool, dry place like the bathroom cabinet. During the heat of summer, you can put them in the fridge to keep them from drying out.
Spray it right
One of the biggest perfume blunders people make is over-spraying. You’d be surprised to know just how little of your scent you actually need to make an impact. In fact, just a single pump of perfume applied correctly will take you from day to night. Simply hold the bottle out in front of yourself and spray one pump into the air then walk through the mist immediately for a light, all-over fragrance that will stay strong.
Mix-and-match
A woman’s perfume is like a pair of heels or earrings – it becomes part of her look, an accessory, if you like. But wear the same accessory day in day out and you’ll not only wear it out faster, but it will also lose its unique edge. To keep your perfume fresh and make it last, keep a collection of at least three scents and try swapping to a new perfume each day. Your perfume will last more than twice as long and your smell will be all the more unique.
I like also mixing good fragrances
Firstly: buy a good one. Second: store in totally dark place and not bathroom. Third: they stick longer and better on oily skin and well moisturized (naturally or with skincare). I dose my underwear sometimes
