It’s so lovely to own a perfume for every season of the year – there’s just one problem with it: lack of dresser space!
If you want to keep your dresser clutter-free, opt for a perfume that can be worn all year round. How do you find this so-called all-purpose perfume fix I hear you ask? Easy! Read on…
Ever notice how you can wear the same statement heels twice and everyone will notice, yet no one says a thing when you wear the same pair of jeans every other day? That’s because statement heels stand out. If you don’t want your scent to become tired, it’s essential you pick a perfume that is subtle enough to get away with being worn constantly, just like your trusty pair of these-make-my-bum-look-great jeans!
The best ‘subtle’ scents are perfumes with crisp, clean, fresh-smelling notes. These are often found in unisex perfumes, such as Calvin Klein’s ck One Eau de Toilette spray and Jo Malone’s Lime Basil & Mandarin Cologne.
Women’s perfumes with lighter scents, such as Davidoff Cool Water Woman and Estee Lauder Pleasures Bloom, also work well too.
If you want your scent to stay fresh all year, it’s important to store and maintain it correctly. Never leave the bottle in direct sunlight where the liquid will begin to evaporate; always store in a cool, dry place – the bathroom cabinet is an ideal spot.
Also, to make your perfume stretch the distance, use the ‘spray and walk’ technique when applying: spray a single pump into the air just in front of you then walk through the mist immediately. This technique will give you a beautifully light, all-over-body scent without the need to get heavy-handed with the pump.
Eau de toilette perfumes are the best choice for all year round scents, as their higher alcohol concentration means they stand the test of time well, whereas Eau de Parfum perfumes are slightly lower in alcohol, so you can expect them to start to go bad a little quicker than the Eau de Toilette sprays.
walk trough perfume: No. Who even invented this? Either wear your frag or not.
