With the cold weather setting in, your skin and hair are probably in need of some of TLC. Or perhaps you want to focus more on the finishing touches, such as a signature scent or pretty pout. Not sure where to start? These four new finds could be just what you need…

Maybelline New York Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil

bh’s Sam says…

“During Fashion Week (MBFWA), I saw this lip colour on the models at the Michael Lo Sordo show and just HAD to have it for myself. Being brunette and quite pale, a vampy lip is my winter go-to, and this one from Maybelline is a new favourite. Though it’s in pencil form, the formula itself is actually quite creamy – not dry like you’d assume. It’s really pigmented, so with one swipe, the colour is on in full force, and the pencil makes it simple to get into the small corners for overall coverage. I find I don’t need to use a lip liner with this either; it goes on precisely and doesn’t budge. A semi-matte finish is exactly what you get – there’s no sheen, but the lips still look a little moist. It doesn’t dry throughout the day, but you should definitely give your lips a good scrub in the morning if you don’t want the colour to ball up on dead skin – but that’s the same with most matte finish lipsticks.”

Palmer’s Purifying Enzyme Mask

bh’s Beth says…

“I rarely take the time to deeply clean my skin, so this face mask was much needed. Though I had to squeeze the tube quite hard to get it out, the formula spread very easily over my face. The instructions say to apply a thin, even layer, which is great because a),it’s relatively quick and easy to wash off, and b) the product lasts for ages. Being clay-based, I wondered whether the mask would be too harsh on the drier areas of my combination skin, but it actually had the opposite effect, maintaining hydration across my whole face while cleaning out my pores. Usually, I feel like I have to run from the shower to my moisturiser, but after using this mask, my skin felt soft and smooth and perfectly prepped for my face cream (rather than crying out for it). I’d definitely recommend this mask for anyone who wants to give their skin a thorough clean!”

Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Cologne

bh’s Carli says…

“Honestly, I never thought to pick up this scent as a perfume – it’s nothing like what I usually wear – but after falling in love with the Pomegranate Noir Candle, I found myself spritzing this every day. It’s definitely not one for those who prefer subtle scents, but if you love heavy fruity scents with a hint of woodiness, you’ll fall just as head-over-heels as I have. I’d say this is probably more of a winter perfume (it’s not the kind of light, zesty and fresh fragrance we gravitate to in summer), but in saying that, I love it so much I’ll wear it all year ’round – alternating with some other scents, of course!”

TIGI BED HEAD Urban Antidotes Recovery

bh’s Caitlin says…

“I’m a sucker for a creamy mask, and this one ticks all the right boxes. With long hair that has been bleached blonde numerous times, my locks need a little help in the recovery department. I like to use hydrating masks in place of conditioners, as I find they do a better job of leaving my hair soft and healthy. This mask did not disappoint. The creamy texture and subtle candy scent made lathering it on my head incredibly enjoyable. I have a feeling this tub will be empty pretty quickly.”
