The teenage years are full of trials and tribulations. As a mum, you want to do the best you can to ensure the transition to adulthood is as smooth as possible for your not-so-little girl. While some things are unavoidable (yes, I’m talking about those darn mood swings), you can help in a few other areas. And in terms of beauty, we have you covered. We’ve put together the perfect starter kit with all the products your teenage daughter needs to nail her beauty routine.

#1 Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes
It’s hard enough to get teenagers to clean up after themselves at home, let alone thoroughly cleanse their skin. Wipes are a simple but effective way to remove make-up and impurities that have built up during the day – your daughter will have no excuses! We recommend Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes as the alcohol-free formula is great for young skin.
#2 Formula 10.0.06 Keep Your Cool Breakout Calming Mask
Blemishes are the bane of every teen’s existence, which is why it’s important to form good skin care habits early on. A weekly mask can do the world of good for a less-than-perfect complexion. The Formula 10.0.06 Keep Your Cool Breakout Calming Mask helps to reduce the appearance of nasty breakouts, and contains peppermint to refresh and coconut to calm skin. The best part? It’s gentle enough to use daily!
#3 Nivea Pure Effect BB Cream
Teenage skin can do without high-coverage, heavy foundation. Opt for a lightweight tinted moisturiser or BB cream instead. Nivea Pure Effect BB Cream is an oil-free moisturiser that combines the benefits of skin care and make-up. Your daughter will be more than happy with its ability to cover dark circles and inflammation while allowing her skin to breathe.
#4 Bonne Bell Moisture Lip Balm
A moisturising lip balm is an essential in any beauty kit, including your teenage daughter’s! We like Bonne Bell Moisture Lip Balm, as it contains UV filters to protect lips from the damaging effects of the sun. The compact size means your daughter can pop the balm in her pocket or handbag so she can take it wherever she goes.
#5 Impulse Very Pink
A body spray is a great alternative to perfume, as it’s rarely overpowering. Impulse Very Pink is a sweet fragrance that features notes of pink grapefruit. De-lish!
#6 Scunci Girl Crimped Bright Thick Elastic
Scunci Girl Crimped Bright Thick Elastics are a fun, fashionable way to hold hair in place. The elastics come in every colour of the rainbow to suit any outfit (wardrobe crisis optional).
#7 Lip Smacker Colour Kiss Duo
If your daughter has her paws in your lip gloss collection, help her to start one of her own with a coloured glaze. The Lip Smacker Colour Kiss Duo moisturises lips while adding shine and a subtle tint. It’s available in three delicious flavours, so your daughter is sure to find one she loves.
Have you or your daughter ever tried any of these products? Do you have any other must-have products for a beauty starter kit?
The wipes and clay mask is good – as is the impluse perfume – which I used tonnes of myself at that age – however I would probably do some dry shampoo and pimple cover as its always a time of bad breakouts, I find!
My daughter and I have used quite a few of these products. My daughter went through an Impulse stage, I think she has used all the varieties of Impulse back in her teenage years.
