We hardly need an excuse to light candles, but there is something about striking a wick in winter that feels more satisfying than any other season.
Even though the flame itself might not provide much toasty warmth, the spicy, woody and delicious aromas that follow after a few minutes burn can feel as comforting as heading back to bed on a crisp, frosty morning.
And whether you’re more partial to a mulled wine mix or pine needle fix, the picture of a wintery paradise is easy to conjure with these cosy candles.

Sensori+ Air Detoxifying Aromatic Soy Candle Macedon Trail 3441

This woody-green candle adds an earthy twist to hand-picked geranium, which will leave your home enveloped in a fresh, rain-soaked scent. Ideal for those who want to bring a sense of the outdoors, indoors. Not to mention the unique air-detoxifying technology sets this wick apart from others.
You say: “This smells just like real geranium that I’ve picked on my daily walk – geranium grows wild where I am and I often like to pick a bit and rub it on my skin – it smells just exactly like this!! The other two scents in this (the vetiver and Australian Sandalwood) are much more subtle and under-notes in this special Sensori scent.” –clearcrystalwater

Tom Ford Fucking Fabulous Candle
We say: ‘Scuse our French, but this candle is deserving of an in-shop sniff at the very least. The oriental blend of clary sage, lavender, orris root and leather is unlike any other and while it’s smell is often divisive, those that land on the ‘love’ side of the fence, really mean it.

Have you got a favourite winter candle? Have you tried any of these ones?
I have not tried any of them. Some of them very expensive to try.
No intention of paying $97 or $162 for a candle as nice as they might be.
They all seem like great smelling candles but they can be a bit expensive.
True, it is quite expensive.
Insane prices, might as well watch your dollars burn.
Some lovely candles there. I have tried many brands and always enjoy a spice or vanilla scent. Some in the article that I wasn’t aware of so I guess I’m tempted.
I’ve used Glasshouse candles before
I just bought the Glasshouse Velvet Rhapsody, smells and looks divine.
Oh id love to try all of them this winter . Im obsessed with candles
I need that Tom ford candle!
I’m a fan of glasshouse and circa home, I like vanilla and coffee scents for winter.
They all sound great. Would like to try Glasshouse Arabian Nights one.
Some of these are just so expensive – no matter how nice they are.
Love candles I try to buy soy wax ones
They all sound so good!
I want FF one. Just for display haha
Omg these candles sound amazing
I hate to say it, but I don’t like the smell of the Tom Ford F Fabulous. Love the name though.

Really want to try the Queenstown one from Glasshouse.
I love the look of that Glasshouse pink one.
I’ve just cracked open the Glasshouse Movie Night candle and I am loving it 🙂 Not too overpowering

i love a candle burning in winter. feels so cozy
they do look very nice
I love having scented candles burning
I own a lot of Glasshouse candles and the only issue I have with them is they perpetually have uneven burns that I have to then fix.
I prefer the fresh notes like citrus and lemongrass.
I like the Sensori+ air fresheners so I’m sure their candles would be amazing and work the same way.
Maple Pancakes from Waxhouse Candle Co is the best smelling candle ever. And is a bit more affordable than these too!
I would love all of these candles!
There are some lovely scents here
My kids are still young enough for me not to want candles around.
Same here. But my kids are old enough now so I’m hoping to bring my candles out more often.
$162 for a candle! Who buys this? Money up in smoke. By the way all these candles are toxic to the respiratory system. The only ones that are safe are those with no fragrance and not made from petroleum.
Not really a candle person but they do look nice
