But what if you don’t want to smell like a bouquet of flowers? Or your man isn’t so keen on rocking a forest-like aroma? Enter unisex scents – fragrances that are a bit more subtle and aren’t so gender specific.
Here are five of our faves:
Calvin Klein CK One
This fresh, light scent can almost be considered the unisex scent that started it all. Containing notes of bergamot, cardamom, pineapple, papaya, violet, rose, nutmeg and green tea, it’s the perfect scent to share with your man. Unless you hate sharing, then hide it from him because he will steal it.
Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin Cologne
Citrus fragrances are perfect for those who are looking for a scent that isn’t too sweet or too spicy. Throw in a touch of peppery basil and white thyme and you’ve got a scent that’s wonderfully wearable for men and women. And why not go the whole nine and wear the matching body lotion, too?
Diptyque Eau Mohéli, $134, www.meccacosmetica.com.au
Peppery spices are combined with vetiver, tonka bean and ylang-ylang to make this fragrance as woody as it is fresh and floral. It sounds like a strange combo, but it works. Deliciously so.
Burberry Brit, from $103, 02 9695 5678
This floral oriental fragrance features notes of lime, pear, sugared almonds, amber, mahogany, and vanilla and tonka beans. The result is a fresh and stylish fragrance that’ll give the wearer an air of confidence that can’t be beat.
Molton Brown Mahina Fine Fragrance
What’s better than a fragrance that both you and your man can wear? A fragrance that makes you feel like you’re on vacation, that’s what. The mix of ylang ylang, orange blossom, vanilla and cedarwood will make you feel like you’re on holiday in French Polynesia. Just close your eyes and drift away….
Do you wear a unisex scent? Would you try a unisex scent?
I would love to try the Burberry Brit, the floral oriental fragrance sounds nice.
I have a few from tom ford, brand was good at making great unisex frags.
