The end of summer can often feel flat. But instead of dwelling on the negatives, we’re all about focusing on the advantages of autumn; like retiring your razor, embracing sweater weather with full force, and (our personal favourite) switching your perfume to something with a little more kick.
So, as the weather cools, why not reflect the change with a season-appropriate scent swap? And seeing as autumn serves as the season of spice, it’s the perfect time to embrace heady fragrances featuring moody notes of sandalwood, vetiver and musk — delicious.
The best autumnal fragrances…
MOR Botanicals Saffron Spice + Cardamom
You say: Enjoy as this unique blend of punchy saffron and cardamon evolves into rich middle notes of leather and creamy vanilla. Oh, but we’re not done. The journey comes to completion as it sinks into the skin, releasing subtle hints of vetiver and sandalwood.
We say: “It is a lovely warm fragrance which showcases the saffron and cardamom with undertones of vanilla and sandalwood. I love the simplicity of the packaging and the bright yellow colour of the box and label which is a perfect match for the autumnal leaves at the moment.” – Saje

Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau De Parfum
We say: Both suave and sensual, this Yves Saint Laurent icon contains orange blossom flower and mandarin essence, plus vetiver and tonka, striking the perfect balance between masculine and feminine.
You say: “Perfect for the cooler months and allows you to wear heavier scents with confidence! You are immediately hit with mandarin essence, and easily pick up the lavender and bergamot, but it’s the residual cedarwood and Madagascan vanilla that keep the fragrance lingering for hours.” – Varonte

What is your go-to autumn fragrance? Have you tried any of these?
I was so delighted about the new MOR fragrances but found them less wonderful than I expected.
That would have been disappointing
I tried their Rosa Noir perfume and I regretted buying a big bottle of it. The scent dissipated a few minutes after I sprayed it on my skin. I had much more success with their marshmallow scent.
I dont usually use perfume because they bring on my hayfever, but I must say I love the bottles that some of them come in. Especially at Christmas or Mothers day.
that must be so hard for you Normap
I love sweet scents.
Me too Izzy 🙂
The Libre one I did not like at all, and I love YSL Black Opium and Cinema
I love the Libre bottle
Always have liked Floral Fragrances. Haven’t heard of the ones mentioned above, would certainly be different to try.
I like the MOR Botanicals Bergamot and Blackcurrant and wouldn’t mind trying the Saffron Spice + Cardamon Eau De Parfum. I also like a vanilla scent for Autumn.
Mor’s notes, sound inviting!
I’ll have to search those out in store.
None of these tempt me to try them. I prefer a more floral scent
I like the sound of the spicy notes in Aesop Eidesis!
I tend to use the same scent year round. I’ve found one I like and have stuck to it for pretty much the last thirty years.
I am a bit like that -If you love it why change
Libre Eau De Parfum sounds like something that might be suitable for me.
Jotting notes to smell these out in the flesh.
yes good to try on your skin first and give it time to see if it is good on you
I’ve only smelt the YSL one.
YSL has a beautiful smell.
I love all MOR products and I wear MOR Rosa and will most likely try MOR Botanicals Saffron Spice + Cardamom
Love this. Cant wait for the cooler weather
Unfortunately perfume gives me headaches.
I love everything about the cooler weather, & heavier perfumes. That MOR one sounds divine!
oo the Mor perfume, I’m so curious on smelling it. I haven’t tried any of these perfumes.
I can’t say I have ever changed my perfume according to the Seasons. I just use mine until its finished.
some lovely scents
I don’t really like the sound of any of these
Have to take Time at the Perfume Section to try some of them would like to try different perfume but I have always loved Floral Perfumes.
never hear of these
The problem with articles about perfume is that you can’t smell them! And that’s the critical thing in deciding what to buy.
Id love the YSL perfume.
it is a good one. Highly recommend it!
Does anyone use the MOR one? I’m really intereseted in it but haven’t tried it yet.
Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau De Parfum smells really good, it has a luxurious last notes, but not too harsh like other winter parfums. Highly recommend it
I’ve tried the Libre perfume and didn’t like it – too sweet for me.
We need the Spring collection now.
