While I love sniffing the latest scents, I also think it’s necessary to pay tribute to the golden oldies. I’m talking about the one you wore as you sashayed down the high school hallway, or when you had your first kiss, or on the day of your first real job. We may not have spritzed these on in years (or even decades), but that doesn’t mean they don’t hold a special place in our hearts. So here are the best perfumes from the 90s (plus a couple from the early 00s). Just see if you aren’t tempted to spray again…
Calvin Klein CK One

Kate Moss made this edgy unisex scent a must-have in ‘94. In our opinion, the citrusy fragrance is just as sexy today.
200mL, $69 (Priceline)
Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers

Sunflowers were all the rage when this scent launched in 1993. We think it’s time to bring them back.
Lancôme Trésor

This sensual amber fragrance smelt oh-so-grown-up in 1990. It continues to be one of the best-selling perfumes in the world.
Tommy Girl

With its lemony tea essence, this invigorating scent was a 90s teenager’s dream. If you ask us, it still goes alright with a white tee and high-waisted jeans.
100mL, $105 (David Jones)
Angel by Thierry Mugler

Thanks to its cotton candy-meets-patchouli vibe, this distinctive scent is not for everyone – but we still love it.
50mL, $69.99 (Chemist Warehouse)
Ralph Lauren Romance

With notes of carnation, violet and zingy ginger, this freesia-infused fragrance flew off the shelves in the 90s.
100mL, $140 (David Jones)
Anais Anais

Did anyone else think Cacharel’s white-floral blend looked a lot like a roll-on deodorant? It smells amazing, though…
100mL, $134 (Myer)
Estée Lauder Pleasures

This soapy, gossamer floral fragrance was formulated to be “fresh as flowers after a rain”. It still is. #classic
Jean Paul Gaultier Classique

A sexier bottle we never did see. The warm, musky scent inside is just as identifiable.
50mL, $99.00 (Priceline)
Ralph Lauren Ralph

Ok, so this one’s more 00s than 90s, but being a 90s baby (and therefore a 00s teenager), I just had to put it in. After all, it was my school week signature.
100mL, $129 (The Iconic)
DKNY Be Delicious

Another 00s offering, this fresh fragrance features a medley of fruits (including, you guessed it, apple). It’s had a place on many a girl’s vanity since ‘04.
Some of these fragrances never go out of fashion, can still buy a couple of them today.
Atm have 16 frags, 5 gifted. After using up one will buy one. Thinking to revisit Angel. I love it for some reason! Lasts and lasts and it is so different than anything niche or mainstream.
I loved Tresor but since it was expensive I couldn't afford it. I hope to buy a bottle one day.
