To Tone or not

In light of sarah’s article today and her promise to not ignore toner…
my question is do you use toner, which one do you use and what do you use it for?

Agree with Hayley644 there, I once used toners as part of my skincare routine, most of them were bought due to nice product packaging and marketing.
But struggle to see any difference (tested routines with or w/o toners, and with different toners), so I stopped using to save money.
been 2 years my routine has only 3 steps, no toner, actually haven’t been better!

I stopped using because they were so drying. Some of the newer easterb-inspired blends are effective yet gentle.

I used a toner years ago but I didn`t find it beneficial so stopped and haven`t used once since. Sometimes I find my skin is better using less products.

I used toners for years and years thinking I was following a good skin cleaning routine. Gradually my skin began to feel quite dry so I decided to drop the toner for a while, and without changing any of my other beauty products my skin bounced back.

I`ve now also changed my moisturiser and eye cream, which I like to do occasionally to try out different products, and my skin has never looked so healthy and supple. I think I`ve worked out that, for my skin, as long as I clean it properly and use a good moisturiser that suits my skin type, there is no need for a toner.
