This week’s Nail Art Colour Combo is ……

Hi Ladies,

Let’s play a game to make our time on Beauty Heaven more fun :). We’ll consider a Week as being from Monday to Sunday and I’ll start off the game by suggesting a colour combination to paint our nails for this week. Of course we’ll have to be reasonable about it so the combo can be anywhere from 2-5 colours of nail polish across the nails. Any questions please ask.

We’ll all take turns to choose the colour Combo for a particular week and I’ll start for this week ending Sunday 3rd September 2017.

I choose the Colour Combo : white, purple, yellow , blue and pink.

Note : You can have for eg. pink & blue on one nail and white, purple and yellow on the other. The main thing is that no nail has only one colour.

On Monday, if you are a Member who has submitted a photo for the prior week, you can be the 1st volunteer to pick a Colour Combo for the current week.

Hope this doesn’t sound too complicated and I hope that all BH Members who enjoying doing Nail Art will take part.

Lastly, embellishments are permitted too as part of the colour combo chosen :).

Okay Arty Girl & Indie – we need some more nail colours.

    Purple, green and silver?
Red, green and silver? Christmas theme?

A Christmas theme would be a nice idea. I`ll see what I can come up with on the weekend, Jatz 🙂

Look forward to it Indie 🙂

I had to cut my nails extremely shortjatz. You won`t recognise my nails as being mine. LOL !!! But like Indie, I`ll try to think up a Christmas theme on the weekend :).

OMG – shock horror Arty Girl – ;-P. I couldn`t imagine your nails being short like mine are. Look forward to seeing whatever designs you two come up with. Always a pleasure 🙂

  • I love the aqua and blue art deco colours… would love to see some ideas with purple and aqua!

Oooh yes, purple and aqua would look divine Arty Girl or Indie?

      • 6 yrs, 12 mths ago

This is my purple, turquoise and silver Christmas nails. As you can see my nails are extremely short and I haven`t made a very good job of the design. They were meant to be Christmas baubles with stars. Oh well …..back to the drawing board. LOL !!!

I can`t wait for my nails to grow long again. Sigh !!!

      • 6 yrs, 12 mths ago

I find it hard to create designs on shorter nails, in saying that I think you`ve done a great job, Arty. I love the colours you used, too.

      • 6 yrs, 11 mths ago

Thanks Indie. You`re very kind in saying this. Once my nails are long, I`ll be able to try out my new nail art stencils :).

      • 6 yrs, 11 mths ago

Ooh, looking forward to seeing the stencil work, Arty

      • 6 yrs, 12 mths ago

They are longer than mine at the moment. I think you have still done a fantastic job. The design snd colours look pretty.

      • 6 yrs, 11 mths ago

Thanks jatz but until they grow longer I will refrain from wearing nail polish. This way the cuticle oil and hand cream that I apply daily will get a chance to penetrate the whole nail.

Impressive Arty Girl – I have to say that I really like the nail polishes from Sinful Colours and Ultra3s. I have a few colours and I find both brands seem to last a few days.

Now if I did dots they would not be so perfecto as yours there. Mine would most certainly be called blobs.

What is on your ring finger? Tell me you didn’t paint that one?

    • 7 yrs, 2 mths ago

For a great really good nail polish, Sinful Colors is my favourite brand because of its reasonable price. Their staying power is good and neither do they take long to dry. For a cheap brand nail polish, Ulta3 is my favourite because they have such a wide range of colours.

I use a dotting tool for my dots because it sits in my hand well as opposed to using a pin. Also, a pack of 5 from EBay makes different dot sizes and is unbelievably cheap.

No, I didn`t paint the gold on my ring finger. I`m not that good. LOL !!! It`s a nail sticker :). I bought 12 small sheets from EBay of Gold Nail Art Stickers for a total of $1.35. There were only 5 stickers with this design so I used 2 to make my accent nail. The sheet they were on had 19 stickers whereas some of the other sheets have 24. Great value for the price !!!

We didn’t get around to picking a Colour Combo for this week so I’m submitting this one as only 2 colours are being used “Blue & Gold”.

The gold base is Sinful Colors “This is it” and the blue base is Ulta3’s ” Pacific Splash”. I had to use coats of the latter before the colour became opaque and non streaky.

The blue dots are done with Maybelline’s “Sapphire Siren” .

Gorgeous Arty! I`ve got some nail art stickers which I still haven`t used. I must get to them!

      • 7 yrs, 2 mths ago

Yes, do misfortune8. No point in keeping them for “”a special occasion”” or they might never get used. LOL !!!

  • 7 yrs, 2 mths ago

Now that is gorgeous too Indie – I tried to my nails like that a few years ago but just couldn’t master it so gave up. These days, I just prefer to admire others that do such fabulous colours on their nails.

  • 7 yrs, 2 mths ago

A very simple mani compared to Arty, but here’s my green to blue ombre 🙂

    • 7 yrs, 2 mths ago

This is gorgeous, Indie. Understated elegance!

    • 7 yrs, 2 mths ago

A simple mani? Hah! You haven`t seen the mess I`ve made tying to do ombré nails Indie! I think these two colours blend beautifully together!

      • 7 yrs, 2 mths ago

Thank you, Mis8. Oh, I made a mess all around my nails and didn`t realise there was still polish remaining on my fingers until I saw the photo, lol

      • 7 yrs, 2 mths ago

I use my nail polish remover pen that I buy from China for clean ups. I bought a set of 5 for less than a $1 each off EBay. One pen didn`t work as the fluid had dried up so when I let the Seller know, they refunded me $1. My last set of 5 nail polish remover pens from EBay literally lasted me 2 years and that`s with 1 being dry and me giving one pen to my sister.

    • 7 yrs, 2 mths ago

That`s a pretty ombre Indie. Ombre is something that I haven`t seriously tried yet. I`ve bought the sponges to do it too. I think I made an attempt once and like jatz, I couldn`t master the technique. I must try again sometime. You`ve mastered the technique perfectly Indie :).

      • 7 yrs, 2 mths ago

Thank you, Arty. I had a little trouble with the green polish, it has become thicker and took forever to dry

      • 7 yrs, 2 mths ago

It`s a pity that we don`t see nail polish thinners as a regular item on Store shelves here. When I was in Vietnam on holiday, it was only then that I could buy a bottle of it and it was at a specific store that sold nail products for Nail Salons. My friend knew the staff in that store which is how I was able to buy my Nail Art Striping Nail Polish there.

If you do a Google Search, it might tell you what you can use to thin nail polish down without destroying it.

I use a quick dry top coat when I want my manis to dry fast. Sinful Colors have brought one out. I paid $4 for my last bottle but today at BigW, the Sinful Colors nail polish is on sale for $2.80.

      • 7 yrs, 2 mths ago

I do have a nail thinner from Seche Vite, but I generally save that for polishes I love. I`ve had this Ulta3 green polish for many years, and it`s well used, so I`m ok saying goodbye to it.

Thank you for sharing your other blue and green nail art looks, Arty. I am mind-blown by your talent, you create such gorgeous designs!

  • 7 yrs, 2 mths ago

THANK YOU, Arty Girl, these are just beautiful. They’re ALL perfect but No 4 is soooooooo lovely. You are just so talented!

By the way – it is high time you were made a Platinum member – the way you share and assist is so much appreciated.

    • 7 yrs, 2 mths ago

Trish_D, I don`t mind sharing and assisting in things to do with nail art because it gives me joy to do so.

As for becoming a Platinum member, I read the requirements and I don`t think that I will be able to regularly make comments on 4 Forum Threads. I think that everyone will notice that I only frequent the Threads to do with Nail Art because it is a hobby of mine.

The other thing is that sometimes I travel with my husband to places that have no Internet available so I can`t access Beauty Heaven at all. I have missed quite a few Trial Team invitations in the past because of this so you can imagine my disappointment when I finally get Internet and see the missed emails.

I know there are some perks to becoming a Platinum Member but I`m happy enough just to be considered to trial products that Beauty Heaven feels that are suitable for me. Receiving the Spring Discovery Bag absolutely blew my mind because I had been experiencing a “”Trial drought””. LOL !!!

I am always available to assist in answering any questions to do with nail art, nail care, etc. It is my absolute pleasure :).

      • 7 yrs, 2 mths ago

Arty Girl, thanks so much for this explanation. I do wish Platinum would go back to being selected rather than needing to apply. SO pleased too, as jatz said, that you got the DB, especially as it was a surprise with such great products.

Your willingness to share and assist really is so much appreciated. You`re a gem!

      • 7 yrs, 2 mths ago

After reading all that Arty Girl I am over the moon that you** DID** receive that Spring Discovery Bag. Makes up for all those missed trials that you couldn`t do.

Keep on doing the nail art……..I love it 🙂

Of the 7 pictured above, which one do you like the best ?

    • 7 yrs, 2 mths ago

I like so many in there but I could cut it down to 2, 4 and 7. All beautiful though. Have thoroughly enjoyed looking at them all Arty Girl.

    • 7 yrs, 2 mths ago

It`s hard to pick a fave!

I like the shades of colours used in #3
      The pattern of #4
      The overall looks of #1 & #6

But ask me again in 5 minutes & I`ll have changed my opinion, lol!
