Sunscreen recall

Please check your sunscreens that you currently have and when you purchase in future. There has been a recent recall as some sunscreens have Benzene in and this can be cancer forming .

Good to see that companies let us know asap and you are right the risk is low -You can’t unchange what has happened it’s what you do about it when you know .

I had four of the sunscreens listed around the house & work but thankfully they were all from different batches.

It’s good that companies are being honest and letting the public know so we can be aware. The same happened with Neutrogena spray on. I received a gift card for the bottles I had. It is frightening to think I had been using this on my disabled son. Like these it was a certain batch. I realise the risks of having used them is low but it is scary to think something used to help can harm. We do our best with the information we have at the time.

Thanks for the heads up. I’ve got a tube of The Cancer Council Sensitive sunscreen in my fridge at home, will have to check the batch number when I get back.

There was a Banana Boat recall at the beginning of the year. I sent in my effected batch numbers and they sent me a gift card to be used in lieu of a refund.

Thanks for TGA link. It was very helpful. Don’t be scared of sunscreen people. It’s just a bad few batches.

So does that mean retailers take them off the shelves if they are still being sold.
Think I had a Nivea and Cancer Council one, not sure about the batch numbers.
To be honest haven’t used much sunscreen as we’ve had so much rain where I live.

The official information is on the TGA website, and it’s only certain batches of certain products from certain brands. Please don’t boycott all sunscreens from those brands, just check the product/batch.

BH system stops my comments if I post links, I’ll post the link separately but please Google TGA sunscreen recall.
