Recommend a strong anti- perspirant?

I’ve been using Mitchum clinical for about a decade, but now it is not as effective as it used to be. It may be a side effect of medication I’m taking,(my Dr won’t let me go off it) , I haven’t moved to a warmer climate and I’m not going through menopause. Whatever the cause I really want some ideas on an alternative brand to use. Would a spray be better than a roll on? Or a deodorent that is marketed towards men.?

do you apply the antiperspirant at night? because I find that has made the biggest impact with keeping the sweating at bay for me.

Not really a matter of what time of day. It should be applied when skin is clean, not when skin is already perspiring, so if you take showers at night, it makes sense to apply it right after you have towelled dry the area.

Rexona Clinical, Coles often has them on sale.

Hi Lisa359, I use Rexona clinical and i find that it really lasts for me. I know it costs a bit more than Mitchum, but it may be worth it for you. Goodluck.

I’m on an essential medication that increases sweating – it’s so gross, but it’s something I’ve just got to deal with & it sucks! If yours affects your body odour, that sounds awful!

During summer, I switch to a clinical antiperspirant (Mitchum – do you use regular Mitchum or their clinical one?). I think it’s more effective if applied after my night shower instead of my morning shower. I wonder: does it need time to activate? I can still scrub my pits in the morning without washing it off.

Do you reapply during the day? You should never use a roll-on on sweaty pits – your body’s odour-causing bacteria can grow & multiply on the roller ball. If you want to reapply, either wash your pits with a flannel first or use a spray.

Are your pits natural, i.e. hairy? If my pits were stubbly, I always noticed an increase in body odour: clean-shaven was better. Then I started epilating them & there was an even greater reduction in BO. Now, they’re bare from IPL & I love it!

Good luck, @Lisa359! Some drugs are b@stards with their side effects, so I feel for you! ❤

I used to use a mitchum roll on unscented deodorant for women and have used it for years but lately it has given me a rash and I’ve had to stop using it.

Have tried the mitchum unscented roll on mens version before by mistake and it was fine.

Have just swapped to a dove sensitive roll on and no rash!

I too have used the Mitchum and loved it until it until for some reason, it was not as effective as it had been.

I now use the Rexona clinical and love it. I really don’t think any of the spray ons are nearly as effective.

Rexona clinical also make the mens equivalent and these days, I just buy whichever is on special.

Know the difference between deodorant/ deo shots and antiperspirant.
I would like to recommend lavendar and sage deo shot.

Consider the antiperspirant/ deo shot is right for you when it gives skin-protection and stops both sweat and body odor.

I often find that the mens product is better than the womens and if I may say so, cheaper.

I had this problem with deodorants not being effective and was advised to try men’s deodorants. I did try men’s deodorants and that solved my problem. I use both roll on and spray.
