Reading and book recommendations
Hi all,
I love reading and discussing books. Thought I would start a reading thread to share book recommendations.
Recently I read the light we lost and whilst not really being much of a romantic, I felt quite drawn in by it.
Anyone have any book recommendations of books they have read lately? I tried to see if there was another similar forum but couldn’t find one, but if one already exists let me know!

Your forum is very useful for me, thank you. It’s always nice to keep notes of book titles that you might find useful. For example, I haven’t read about Atlanta, but I’ve been going for a long time, and after your review I definitely want to do it. As for the admission to the scholarship, I was also in a similar situation. Now you need to study only for free, if you have brains and such a chance. And to be accepted, use the sop writing service https://www.sopservices.net/ to express my intentions in a concise form. It was great to get that kind of help.

I recently finished reading Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. Incredible book, I’m delighted. I recently wrote a paper about this book. paper writing can sometimes be quite a difficult process, especially when the topic is too complex. I am currently writing a residency personal statement in order to receive a scholarship and I decided to apply to the residency personal statement writing service https://residencypersonalstatements.net/ because it is difficult for me to write a quality text on my own. The authors know how to describe your hands-on experience, unprecedented insight, creativity, and research skills sought by admissions committees.

Quite a few pages are missing from this thread.
I just watched the final episode (of three) of Books That Made Us on ABC. It talks about some of the most influential Aussie books, some old, some new, hosted by Claudia Karvan. I’ve read many of them & have added a few to my reading list. Bibliophiles: it’s well worth checking out on iView.

Appears like half the thread is gone!
I’ve got A LOT of book reviews to share with you all – have been on a book buying spree over the last 3-4 months, can’t seem to stop – but I don’t want to do it whilst the site is playing silly buggers, so shall hoard them for now.

So many threads have huge chunks missing! I hope they come back because I sometimes refer back to them – especially this thread.

The books conversation between TinDrum & myself was in danger of taking over the Synergie TT thread, so I’ve moved over here.
TinDrum: I’m still thinking about your Darwinian comments.

I keep thinking about your take on the Judge in BM.
From the “”Synergie”” thread:
“”I guess the `Natural Selection` angle can be read into it, as the Judge doesn`t really instigate evil, he participates in what is already there. The existing evil on Earth. The `survival of the fittest` in this case, the most violent. There are also interesting Gnostic readings of his character as well. As in he is god`s `side-kick` if you will in an inherently cruel and uncaring world. God does not intervene to stop the suffering on Earth.””
I`ve been thinking a lot about this.
I`m not sure about “”the Judge doesn`t really instigate evil, he participates in what is already there.”” Hmm.
I prefer to see him in what you described as the gnostic reading. I sometimes oscillated between thinking of the Judge as a sick bastard & seeing him as the Devil incarnate, but mostly as the Devil.
But as you also said, people write entire PhDs on a single book. BM would be a rich source for a PhD thesis!

As long as you`re prepared for the violence, I reckon it`s an amazing book, Frenchy!
