Expensive hair trims?
Hi ladies
I would like a cheap trim however everywhere I go and ask for one the hairdresses tell me it will cost between $38- $50 which for a trim sounds very expensive! I remember getting a trim when I was younger and paying $20 – $25!
It seems now they are charging a lot more. I used to go to Stefan and pay $65 for ‘the works’, so I’m thinking of paying for that rather than the cost for ‘just a trim’.
Does anyone know any places that just do cheap trims????

I pay 25$ for my trim which is just a straight cut. It is a walk in salon similar to just cuts.
In total for the dry trim it takes maybe 5 mins, whereas as my partner gets a standard male trim which costs him $19 and takes around 15mins. I just never understand the difference, especially when mine is quicker and easier.I only make appointments and are willing to pay more when it comes to bg styling changes that I would a little more time spent on. But I am not fussed about the trim.

ive always cut my hair at home myself since i was around year 10, and prior to that, from yr 7 onwards, i cut my own fringe and got my mum to cut my hair at the back 🙂
i guess the reason being was that i had a bad experience with the hairdressers when i was really young, and i never ended up going back afte rthat bad experience (much like falling off a horse, and actually plucking up the courage to ride one again)
the most downer for me is im afriad the hair dressers will freely do whatever they want with my hair, and at the end of the day, if the haircut goes bad, its not their hair, its not their problem and they will get paid for it.
at least if i DIY i can blame it on myself and know what not to do in the future 🙂I had a similar experience as well, mum always cut my hair until age 16. Which means I only went to the hair dresser for 4 years of my life, and never again! A good hair dresser should listen to your needs. However they are hard to find, but can be gems if you do and it coincides with your beliefs about the industry.

When I used to go to a hairdresser I went to a lady who worked out of home, it was about $20 to start with but because I was loyal to her it came down to $10 in the end, with a wash and dry. I’ve been trimming my own hair for nearly 4 years now though. I’d ask around people you know if they know anyone who is cutting hair at home.

I pay $35 for a cut only.
But I don’t really go for them that often, so expensive.
I prefer to just wait until I have an event to go to and then go for a wash, cut and style. -

Yeah hair cuts are pretty pricey. Sometimes if I just want to trim my ends, I’ll do it myself (Google ‘Feyes Self Trim’) but this is only good when my hair is long and straight. Not a complicated style. Currently I have layers…
I can get a cut for $35 at my local Price Attack. But I try not to ask for anything too fancy like a lot of layering. 😛
I love to get the works done occasionally. I recently got a shampoo, cut (yay, new layers) and blowdry for $79. I was really happy with the cut. He was such a perfectionist, doing some extra trimming after it was blowdried! So I feel like I got my money’s worth.
I’m in Perth.

I need a trim too but I am not paying so much money just to straighten the ends of my hair…
I went to the Brisbane school of hairdressing last time and that was $12 for a wash, cut and blow dry … it was perfectly fine but it just takes them a while.
I usually go to my local hairdresser and pay $30 for the same thing and I think I will do that this time.couldn’t find the website about Brisbane school of hairdressing. can u help?
heres the website but i am just warning you that it might take a long time because they have the supervisors checking what they are doing so if you do go just dont plan anything too close to your appointment.
Thanks! that’s very helpful.
