Losing any bit of weight is good going for you riverlicker and it’s hard to lose weight with all the happenings of covid at the moment.
Just go at your own pace – due to losing too much to begin with, it just comes back..ask my hubby lol.
I feel for you with the arthritic knees though as I have the problem with my feet and neck/shoulder. i can’t do the usual exercises that decrease the waist so somehow I have to walk which is then hard on the feet. Ah gee, life is tough sometimes but keep at it and you will get there. 🙂

Oh, this is the slowest weight loss ever! I dropped 3kg after the first month (obviously water weight), and then the other 3kg just came without much.
Gentle walking (with my dog) is the only exercise that doesn’t ruin me. We do at least 1km.

Okay, so remember I did this trial just over a year ago and put in heaps of effort, but didn’t really lose much weight (even though I shrunk down a bit)…?
So endometriosis was a major factor to me stacking on weight in the first place, and 4 months post surgery, I have, with no effort, lost 6kg and several centimetres. Last week, I was momentarily under 90kg (the fluctuation is +/- 1.5kg), which hasn’t happened in about a decade.
I should note that even though the underlying cause of my weight gain has been addressed and I’ve lost weight, I still feel pretty awful from my other comorbidities. I am trying to keep as active as possible (within reason) and making sure I don’t miss out on any nutrition because I haven’t had the biggest appetite since surgery, so a hot choc made with sustagen keeps me afloat. Might grab a tub of hospital formula haha!
I wouldn’t call this a healthy approach, but a loss is a loss for me, and less I weigh, the easier it’ll be on my arthritic knees!!! Haha.

Got arthritic knees too. I`ve been using Optifast to replace at least one meal a day and got some Eimele too but it`s double the price of Optifast. Sustagen is quite high in calories and carbs, Isowhey Diabetic is similar in price, nutrition but has less carbs, sugars and KJs. My doc said in the end it`s whatever works for you.

That`s great news, rivet! How are you healing other than that? Has the op reduced the pain you were experiencing?
Re the Sustagen: years ago, my endocrinologist (for my thyroid disease) sent me to a nutritionist, who put me on Sustagen because I`m overweight & often don`t eat. When I moved, I had to get a new (much better) endo & she was aghast that I was taking Sustagen! She said that`s what they put people on when they need to fatten up! She took me straight off it & onto Optifast VLCD shakes. But I don`t think my weight changed after the switch.
Still, you`re losing weight, so that`s going to help you feel better.
Yay!

IMO, the nutritional labels don’t look that much different, except one is mixed with milk, the other with water. I can definitely use the nutrients from the milk, and optifast is way more expensive!!!
The weird thing is, yes, overall, the pain is less, except the past week and a bit. Thought I had a major UTI, but the urine test showed nothing!

I get what you mean about the nutrition labels, Rivet. My doc was concerned about the higher level of sugar in Sustagen, but it`s obviously working for you. I`ve just put in an order for the more palatable Tony Ferguson shakes – cheaper, too.
I hope the pain works itself out! That`s nasty!

I feel for you onlyoni I hope your cruise goes ahead. Unfortunately, in hindsight, I’m so happy our cruise was cancelled.
I’m afraid, I think I’ve been put off cruising for life. -

Well done everyone. I passed on the trial as I was supposed to be going on a cruise in March. Shorted cruise ever…. I was aboard for 3 hours. Then straight into isolation.
I’ve loved reading the reviews on this and hearing about everyone’s results.
The soup sounds wonderfully yummy. Tomato, basil and lentil.
Once again well done! You all deserved a prize.
Such great variety. -

Thanks, Margaret. The trial was just so enjoyable and with great results.
Yes, I`d call that the shortest cruise ever. We were supposed to be in Venice today as part of our dream 29-day cruise from Dubai to England. We also had a cruise through Vietnam and Thailand cancelled as well so I`ve booked a cruise for December hoping that will actually set sail.

Thanks so much Eimele for the nice surprise on my doorstep when I arrived home this arvo.
I love the variety of products: sachets of shakes, soup and oats; plus an Eimele tote bag; Vida Glow marine collagen (how did Eimele know I was down to my last three sachets), and a jar of coconut oil.
