Beauty Brand Pronunciation – how on earth do you say that?

My cousin used to manage a L’Occitane store and this is how to say it.

L’Occitane – Lox-ee-tahn

The website even has a funny little video about it all and the correct pronunciation of the brand. I am glad I am wiser from this post and now know how to say Thierry Mugler ahah it was killing me.

Some people I know say it ah-ven.
I usually just say it really fast or take a catalogue in & point at it 🙂

This is so helpful! I’ve been caught out by Stila – I assumed it was just a pun on styler as in stylish until my friend corrected me! So embarrassing.

I used to be stumped when it came to pronouncing Payot, Pier Auge, and Guinot. I felt like a complete tool – it was pretty embarrassing, as I was sure that everyone knew but me.

Haha WhiteLily, I can’t pronounce any of the brands you mentioned, those are toughies for sure!!!

lol, apparently Payot is also the Hebrew name for those long sidelocks of hair that Jewish men wear.

I have trouble saying décolleté, Balenciaga, and there’s a whole list of L’occitane products, including L’occitane itself. I think I found how to pronounce this on one of their emails because I’m sure some other people had difficulty with it too. I used to call it lock-e-tane.

I just point to what I want in the shops.

I think Huile is weeeel, I think so 😉 Maybe someone else knows better. I’m sure its oil in French. I wouldn’t even attempt the next word!!

I asked the lady at Myer if they had the new Baglencia perfume, she was like, you mean Bah-len-see-ahh-ga?
I almost walked out I was so embarrassed haha

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse is my favourite thing at the moment, but I’ve honestly got no idea how to say it!

I’m not sure about the rest of it but I think the Nuxe bit is pronounced ‘nukes’? Hoping someone can confirm this as I’m not 100% sure and could be making a dill out of myself 🙂
