As an artist, Sia has dedicated a massive amount of energy to keeping her face out out of the public eye, which is why her actions this week have left people stunned.
The ‘Chandelier’ singer shocked the audience at the 5th Daytime Beauty Awards, (which highlight the science behind beauty, health and wellness) on October 1st in Los Angeles when she appeared on stage.
The rare sighting of the notoriously private star was all the more special because Sia decided to leave her intentionally oversized wigs and face coverings at home, and attended the event with her face intentionally on display.
The Aussie singer took to the event’s stage, not to sing, but to present plastic surgeon Dr. Ben Talei with the Outstanding Achievement in Medicine award.
“I’m a pop star that normally hides my face and doesn’t lie about s**t,” the popstar said to the crowd.
“I got an amazing face lift from Dr. Talei,” she then went on to reveal. “He is incredible. And he is doing so much good work—and not just for the pop stars of the world.”
The star is clearly very complimentary about Dr. Talei’s work and shared during her speech that she recommends him to everyone who compliments her on her face.
“I was showing someone [backstage] my before-and-afters right before I came on,” she continued.
“People go, ‘You look nice.’ I’m like, ‘Dr. Ben Talei, face lift‘ for like anything you could ever want,” she explained. “I love him, I can’t say enough good about him.”
Sia shared a glimpse at her ‘new’ face in an Instagram post in June, but this is the first time she’s publicly confirmed that she underwent cosmetic surgery.

Would you ever consider getting a face lift?
Too scary for me.
Not a lot of people admit to having a face lift
How do we even know if she looks better if we could’nt see her face before the facelift?
Yes i would have liked to see the before shot too.
I was thinking exactly that.
Exactly! I don’t even know who she is.
lol exactly Lisa!
I want to say I’d never do it on principle, but if I won Lotto, I might be tempted.
Sia looks amazing. Good on her for being so open about having surgery.
Nice to have the choice though.
Good for her for being open and honest about her surgery! She looks great
If I had the money yes I would get a face and neck lift just for myself.
She looks happy.
I probably wouldn’t get one.
Neither me, I’d be too scared of something going wrong.
I would check out all the review on the surgeon prior to getting it done and certainly wouldn’t rush in.
I had no idea she had even had surgery.
This is not something i wish to do.
No, not going there.
no me either
me either!
I’m glad I’m not in the spot light. Too much pressure to look “good”
You are right. Pressure every single day.
I think that is why they get paid so much – it’s sort of a payoff – but yeh at what a cost!
Brave to admit she had work done and be proud of it.
Too painful and scary
I don’t think I ever would, but ask me when I’m like 70 and age is really catching up with me – I might change my mind!
That is such a shame considering how great a few weeks this has been for celebrities embracing ageing. Sia is still quite young too.
No, I don’t want surgical intervention. No judgement on people who do, though.
No, I would never consider a facelift. My face is how it is and lifting has no benefits at all.
I don’t think id get a face lift any time soon
At least she doesn’t feel she has to hide her face now .
she looks very happy
This was a quirky outfit that is for sure!
love the pink crimped hair!
