When it comes to TikTok, the platform is full of new beauty trends. No, seriously you can’t go more than a few hours without coming across a new, wonderful and sometimes downright strange trend on the platform. Everything from seven toner skin care routines, to shaving your face with dry shampoo (please don’t try that one). But if you’re going to get anyone to go through all the chaos in a calm and hilarious manner, it’s going to be Jennifer Garner.
The absolutely gorgeous star is known for her down-to-earth nature, and surprisingly affordable skin care picks! So, when she was asked to react to TikTok trends (by Allure) we just knew we were in for a seriously wholesome, genuine time.
With each and every questionable trend that came up on the screen, Jennifer first commented on how beautiful or sweet the person doing it was, a sign of a true Queen in our opinion. That was of course, often before she totally disagreed with the trend. So, let’s find out her thoughts on some of the biggest trend to come out of TikTok.
Jennifer Garner TikTok Trend Reactions
Skin Care Slugging
Skin care ‘slugging’ might sound awfully disgusting, but let us tell you, it’s a hydrating game-changer. And if you’re just as confused as Jennifer was, let us enlighten you. Think of the ‘slug’ aspect of this skin care hack is the trail you often see behind. But don’t worry, you’ll only feel a little greasy while the occlusive (think: Vaseline or CeraVe Advanced Repair Balm) goes to work locking in all the goodness.
Jen’s thoughts however come in typical mum fashion, because the last time she saw a tub of Vaseline, she was changing a nappy, “which needs a barrier”. And while she might not be up on the barrier building face care, we’re happy she’s learning.
Try the trend:

Heatless Curls
If you’re anything like us, this ‘trend’ is just how we used to have to style our strands. And while we’re happy to hope right back on the heatless curl train, it’s fair to say its come a seriously long way from where it once was. And Jennifer was happy to remind us of all the ways we used to get a curl in our hair.
In Jen’s experience, “pink sponge rollers” and “rags” yep, rags were how she went about it. But unfortunately for her, neither of those options were very comfortable, although “they totally worked and you get used to it”. When she first watched the video she was definitely skeptical, exclaiming “oh come on. This doesn’t work this well’. But don’t worry she’s still on board trying out the trend, noting that “it seems worth a shot”.

Anti-Wrinkle Straw
Look, we might be putting this one in the ‘not for us’ basket, because the fine lines around our mouths are here to stay (and we wouldn’t want it any other way). Jennifer brings up some fantastic points in regards to this “kind of silly” straw. “You’re still pursing your face” which leads her to believe “it doesn’t seem like it works”. And we have to agree on that one.

Would you try any of these trends? What do you think of the way Jennifer reacted?
I haven’t tried any of these trends
No I haven’t either
I want to try some of these trends.
As she try to make it trends, then there would plenty of women to follow her…
yes and a lot more money for her -Good on her !
Those trends sounds a bit adventurous to me.
Some unusual things on tiktok to be sure
yes I agree
Tried all of these except the straw – doesn’t sound like it would work… The other two are solid.
A straw is a straw so effects would be the same ?
MMM !! Not too sure
I’ve only tried slugging and that works for me.
It sounds disgusting ?
I am not sure i will try.
I’d be sceptical of anything that emerged on tiktok.
I have tried slugging, don’t need any more curls, and the straw is’nt something I would go near.
I love using the heatless curls, great results
The Anti-Wrinkle Straw sounds dumb. I’m all for Slugging though!
I just hear the words ‘tik tok’ and I’ve checked out.
These all sound weird to me
Sounds like too much work
