With winter officially here, there’s a good chance you’re feeling pretty pasty right about now. While we’re all for embracing fair skin, it’s normal to want just a hint of colour to feel our best. But with so many different self-tanning products on the market, it can be hard to work out which one is right for you. That’s where this handy guide comes in…
What you want: A long-lasting tan that’ll make you feel summer-ready for days on end.
What you need: For an even glow minus the DIY drama, you can’t go past a professional spray tan using salon-only products. Administered with a nifty spray gun, they’re also easily buildable for those who prefer a deeper bronze hue. Hot tip: A tan extender will make it last even longer.

What you want: A self-tanner suited to your dry skin type.
What you need: Fake tan used to be a bit of a no-no for sensitive-skinned ladies, but now there are a whole host of products formulated to boost hydration while also delivering a gorgeous glow. I’m a huge fan of dry oils, as they absorb into your skin straight away (no mess). For the softest skin possible, it’s a good idea to do an all-over body scrub before you apply it.

What you want: A golden glow for one night only.
What you need: If you’ve have a special occasion on the horizon (and not a lot of spare time in the lead-up), you’ll want to keep your beauty prep to a minimum. For a quick bronzing fix, opt for a wash-off tanning product – just be sure to give it a few minutes to fully dry before you put on your dress.

What you want: A bronze face (since the rest of your bod is covered up with winter woollies).
What you need: If you’re packing on far too much bronzer lately, a self-tanner for your face is a great alternative. Formulated especially for your mug, these options won’t clog your pores (or make the fact that you’re wearing tan obvious).
Try: Salon Tan Face Tan, Jbronze Face Flawless Tan
What you want: A hint of colour that won’t turn your fair skin orange.
What you need: A subtle self-tan that doesn’t overwhelm your skin tone. Slow-building and easy to apply, a tanning moisturiser is the perfect product for you. Don’t forget to wash your hands after you’ve applied it!
