How-to: Wax sensitive skin

Do you have skin that’s prone to bumps and redness after waxing? Chances are you’re not using the right wax for your sensitive skin.

But don’t fret, there are a few things you can do to ensure you end up with super-smooth skin – minus the irritation.

To find out the best way to wax sensitive skin at home, check out the video above or read the step-by-step guide below.

STEP #1: Choose a product that contains ingredients specifically made for sensitive skin, such as the Veet EasyWax Roll-on Kit with the Legs & Arms Sensitive Refills.

STEP #2: Before waxing sensitive skin, test whether your skin reacts to the wax by applying some to a small part of the area you wish to wax. If you don’t have an adverse reaction after 24 hours, you’re fine to use it.

STEP #3: Prep your skin and prevent irritation by having a warm shower to open pores. Use a pH-balanced body wash, and pat skin dry with a towel.

STEP #4: Apply the wax strip, then hold the skin taut as you remove it to avoid inflammation. Make sure you don’t wax over an area more than once as this can result in redness.

STEP #5: After waxing, calm skin by applying a soothing moisturiser with ingredients like chamomile or aloe vera.
