Our days are often packed with things we do for other people. Between work and spending time with family and friends, there’s often barely any time left to look after yourself. So when you have the opportunity to do something – no matter how small – that’s purely for you, take it! This will benefit your health, wellbeing and overall happiness.
A little thing you can do for… YOUR MIND
When your brain is busy thinking about what needs to go on the shopping list, who’s picking up the kids or how you’re going to pay for that trip to Europe, it can be hard to relax. Learning to meditate will not only release daily stress, but also help to relieve tension headaches and lower blood pressure. It’s an easy way to bring a little harmony to your day and the best thing about it is it can be done anywhere, anytime. Even just five minutes of steady breathing can change your perspective.
A little thing you can do for… YOUR HEALTH
Making the time to attend your favourite exercise class is more important for your health than you may realise. Whether it’s yoga, Zumba or water aerobics, getting the blood pumping will decrease your risk of cardiovascular disease, not to mention improve your mood and boost your energy. Take a friend with you or sign up to a team sport so you can have a laugh at the same time. You’ll be amazed at how good you feel afterwards.
A little thing you can do for… YOUR SKIN
Switching to products with natural ingredients is a simple way to enhance skin health and get that silky, smooth feeling we all know and love. And these days, there are plenty of products containing the benefits of natural ingredients. For example, Veet have recently released a Natural Inspirations range, with everything from sugar wax and cold wax stripsto hair removal cream. The range contains natural extracts* such as aloe vera, grape seed and argan oil, so by adding these to your routine, you’ll be fuzz-free and pampered. (this is just my suggestion, feel free to amend, we can’t talk about health of skin)

A little thing you can do for… YOUR CONFIDENCE
When you’re flat out and don’t have much time to primp and preen, it can really take a toll on your confidence. So, you know that knockout outfit you’ve been saving for a special occasion? Screw the ‘rules’ and wear it on a regular day. Clothes weren’t made to sit in the closet, and something as simple as wearing your favourite brightly-coloured top can do wonders for your confidence!
A little thing you can do for… YOUR HOME
Your home should be a sanctuary, but ask anyone who lives with family members or housemates and they’ll tell you: it doesn’t always feel like one. Creating a space just for you, whether it’s a bedroom, study or balcony, can really improve your happiness. Fill it with your favourite candles, artwork, books or a vase of flowers and retreat there every chance you get (even if it is to pay the bills). Just being in a positive, happy surrounding will make the mundane jobs enjoyable and the relaxing moments pure bliss.
