After the attack of the crazy fluoro phase some years ago (mostly adopted by ravers and very young tweens), super bright colours were sort of eliminated from our beauty kits. It was all just a bit too bright and in your face to handle, and we’ve all been a little hesitant to break out the brights ever since.
That is of course until Seal rocked some show-stopping neon yellow digits on The Voice – and I know myself amongst others welcomed show-stopping hues back into our world with open arms. In fact, we’re so besotted with neon shades; we’ve taken them to our eyes and lips too – with no signs of slowing down.

How to wear NEON… on your lips:
Go fuchsia. The brighter the better! We love this fantastic pop of pink on your lips for a foolproof party look that looks sensational teamed with any LBD. If you’re not feeling that brave, opt for a show stopping coral hue instead as it’s slightly less of a contrast from your skin tone – but only slightly. Coral is very flattering teamed with bronzer, so ensure you’re generous with your sweeping.

How to wear NEON… on your eyes:
Stick to a bright hue that’s slightly cooler, as it’s more flattering on your peepers than warmer shades. We love a neon purple shadow, just like the one pictured from Bobbi Brown. This is perfect as an eyeliner (just dip your liner brush in some water for a truly stand-out line.)

The sky is the limit with this trend when it comes to your digits. Choose one shade or 10 and embrace a happiness-inducing colour everyday. It’s a sure-fire way to jazz up any dreary winter ensemble and put a bit of shine into a grey day. Personally we’re loving neon orange and yellow on your digits, a la Seal.
