Top 3 reviews this week

Hoorah, it’s Friday! And you know what that means? (Besides the start of the weekend, duh). It means that the time has come to announce our three favourite reviews of the week!

These reviews were not only well written and easy to read, but they were also thorough and provided useful tips for other members. Bet you want to read them now right? We thought so…

Congratulations…Lula

“The cream has a thick, mousse-like texture and is very light on the skin. I really like this product, it evens out my skin tone, reduces the appearances of blemishes (for me anyway) and leaves my skin with a healthy glow! I am very pale and have been using it in light, at first I was worried it would be too dark for me but it blends in really well – as long as I don’t apply too much (and you CAN apply too much). The only downside is it can make skin a bit shiny, which I don’t really mind, except for on my nose and T-zone, but that’s nothing a little powder can’t fix! Also I think that if you are prone to breakouts this product might just make that worse, so steer clear… I have tried applying this product three different ways: with my fingers, with a brush and with a sponge. I think I get the best results when I use a sponge, as it helps spread out the product evenly and is really good for blending. A brush is also good, but I find that sometimes leaves brushstrokes, which looks a bit odd. Using your fingers is really good for convenience, but I find that when I use my fingers my skin looks more shiny (but maybe that’s all in my head). Also: If you have pale skin you NEED to apply some to your neck as well, other wise it looks weird.” – Lula

“I have Rimmel London 60 Second Nail Polish, the colour Purple Reign. I love purple and this shade of Rimmel 60 Second Polish is plush and vibrant. It comes in the classic round nail polish bottle. I found the nail polish easy to apply, the brush being a little longer compared to other brands of nail polish brushes I have tried. This made the application of applying the nail polish seem faster. I like my colours in nail polish to be dramatic so I generally put on 2 coats of the Rimmel 60 second Nail Polish, Purple Reign. The nail polish is fast drying but because I put on a second coat it does take longer to dry. After the polish dries my nails are a gorgeous shade of purple that glimmers and glints in the light. The nail polish looks nicely even and smooth with a nice shine. I change my nail colour regularly so I really have not noticed any chipping with this brand. The Rimmel London 60 Second Nail Polish is a good quality product with a great range of colours to choose from. With any nail enamel it is best to put it on in a well-ventilated area to stop the strong smell being so intoxicating. The nail polish is easy to remove by using cotton balls and nail polish remover. I purchased the nail polish from my local Safeway Store, they have a range of Rimmel products and the prices are reasonable. Rimmel London 60 Second Nail Polish is Made in Spain.” – Neilrawson

“I bought the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Fragrance-Free Hand Cream after my hands were left worse for wear after a week of gardening, painting and other housework – and my other hand creams were just not helping get the moisture back in my very dry hands. And my skin just drank this right up and gave me immediate relief from dry, cracking, chapped hands. But the first time I used it, I did put too much on and it was greasy and sticky. I ended up rinsing my hands with water, towel drying, and my hands were perfectly soft and smooth. So only a very small amount is needed as it is so concentrated, so although $8 for a 56g tube at first seems a bit expensive, it actually is great value for money – a tube will seriously last you a long time! The negative about this hand crème is that if you use just a bit too much, it will leave your hands a bit sticky, which is why I have found that it is better as an intensive treatment used at night time. But for that, it works absolute wonders – you will wake up with ever so smooth hands (and feet) in the morning. The cream also nourishes my nails and (very) cuticles well, and I have also found that it works exceptionally well for dry feet – I simply put it on, and then wear a pair of cotton socks around the house, and it leaves my feel moisturised and baby soft. I like the part that it actually completely fragrance free – and my hubby who always complain that my other hand creams are too perfumed for him to use (though he keeps using them!), also instantly fell in love with it. Fantastic product Neutrogena – well done!”  – Princess Fiona1
