If you turned all ‘cave woman’ this winter and forgot your beauty routine, don’t stress – all is not lost! Now is actually the perfect time to shed that winter dreariness and ‘prep’ for the warmer months. You can actually come out of it looking rather fabulous. Let me tell you how.
Get your feet in tip-top shape
Foot health is so important, especially for those who are managing their glucose levels. Keep your tootsies and heels in their prime with fortnightly exfoliations (use sugar and some olive oil for a quick, at-home scrub), slather on a hydrating foot cream every night and then put on those socks (I am in love with Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Foot Cream),.Your feet will be transformed overnight, and remain in tip-top condition, perfect for those sporadic, open toe days that sometimes pop up towards the end of winter.

Find your perfect tan (colour)
Sure, your flesh is barely going to be on display when it’s cold outside but that is exactly the point. Now is the time to go on the hunt for the perfect tan that suits and works with your skin. If you muck it up or the tan isn’t right, nobody will know because you will be covered in layers of clothing. I can’t go past my Eco Tan Winter Skin, for a gradual, organic tan that smells pretty yummo.

Invest in quality and skin-loving hydrating products
Winter zaps your skin of all moisture, so take time out one weekend and go on a hydration spree to keep flaky skin at bay (so not sexy). Do it and you’re guaranteed to come out of this brutal season with envy-inducing skin.

Start IPL
Lasers make your skin sensitive to the sunlight so the best time to start an IPL session, especially if they are on your face, is during the colder months. That being said, I always advocate using an SPF EVERY day of the year.
There are plenty of Laser clinics across Australia, but I am a sucker for being able to do it in the privacy of my own home, so have been recruiting my Phillips Lumea Precision Plus in my hair removal program.

Love up your scars
Nobody is perfect, and I for one know the perils, first hand, of what stretch marks and surgery scars can do for my confidence. But this winter I pledged to stop that negativity and actually do something about their visibility. I know I can’t get rid of them but I can certainly reduce their appearance. I have stocked up on Bio Oil and am now using it twice a day. so that my confidence is higher in summer/ bikini season. Now I rarely have a dry patch of skin on my body so its a win win, I say!
Start sessions of Dermapen
Now, I have scars on my face that no amount of Bio Oil can fix. These are, unfortunately, caused from years of acne and have resulted in semi-pitted cheeks. But, not being one to let something conquer me, I have started once-a-month sessions of Dermapen, and am seriously loving what I am already seeing (after only 4 sessions).
Dermapen, like laser but not as aggressive, causes your skin to be quite sensitive and red for a few days after treatment., As I like to shack up at home when it’s colder, I am getting in as many sessions as possible, so I can have perfect skin by the time summer starts.
