Spring has well and truly sprung, which means it’s time to switch up your skin care routine and start your spring nail moodboard. And while we too are still obsessed with minimalist lip gloss nails, spring is the perfect time to switch up your regular mani and add a little more colour to your claws.

We bet right now you’re thinking spring = floral nails (groundbreaking). But we’re thinking a little more outside the box to spice up your idea of seasonal trends (think funky French tips, whimsical designs and loads of colour).

With that in mind, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite nail trends for you to screenshot and save as inspo for your next trip to the salon. And remember: ‘too bright’ doesn’t exist when it comes to spring nail art…

The best spring nail designs

Fruity fun

What says “springtime” more than seasonal fruits painted onto your nails? Keep it minimal and chic with fine illustrations on a few nails, or add some flair and colour to your favourite fruits with swirls, stars and even glitter.

Pearlcore

Missed out on the mermaidcore nail trend memo? Pearlcore nails are perfect for those looking for a low-key approach. The beauty with pearl manicures is that you can add a few or go all out depending on your mood. And the embellishments look even better when paired with a shimmery French tip…

Funky French tips

Speaking of French tips, spring is the perfect time to switch up a much-loved classic, whilst still keeping your nails clean and minimal. And whilst we’re doing our best to steer clear of florals, we’ll let a fruity floral Frenchie slide.

Spring greens

Sick of pinks and nudes? Switch it up with a coat of green polish. Green is, after all, a spring staple and will pair perfectly with your colourful ‘fits for the season. Opt for a muted sage green for an understated hue, or go bold with a lime green combo. This one’s easy to DIY too – all you need is a bottle of your favourite green gel nail polish.

Colourblock abstract

Spring is all about vibrant hues, and adding some contrasting colours and abstract patterns to your claws is the perfect way to brighten up any outfit. If you’re a seasoned manicure aficionado who’s not afraid to play with colour, this one’s for you.

Butterfly wings

Tap into the whimsical ‘fairycore’ trend with some butterfly nail embellishments. Adding a bright decal over your neutral base is a great first foray into colourful nails – but we just can’t go past an iridescent wing design!

Bejeweled aura

Lean into the spring pastel theme with a mix-and-match aura nail design, then add some colourful diamantes and watch them glisten. And don’t be fooled into thinking that bright, bejeweled nails can only be enjoyed by teens. As Taylor Swift once said, you can still make the whole place shimmer…

  1. I agree that most of the nails featured looks like false stick on nails to me.

The iridescent butterfly wings is very pretty and unusual.

For spring I usually go for pink and peach colours or any other colour in pastel will do. Stickers and water decals are a great way to decorate the nails without going to through too much effort.

  2. I have acrylic overlays and love nail designs, but not a fan of any of these. Just not my style. Don’t like bright colors. It’s either natural/nude or dark for me. Maybe some glitter or shimmer. Depending on my mood ✨ 💅 ✨
