There’s something so special seeing a small Aussie business do well. Maybe it’s our penchant for seeing a homegrown little guy get a big win, either way, we’re cheering big time (Dallas Cowboys style) for Sontse.
The natural-looking (no orange hues here), vegan-friendly tan is the latest Aussie brand to make the big time!
With a big focus on creating a glow-from-within kind of aura, founder Jayde Houndalas wanted to give people a skin-loving tan option that empowers them to learn more about sun safety – a must for everyone under the Aussie sun.
To see how Sontse got connected to Kathy Hilton we chatted to founder Jayde Houndalas…
So, how did you two connect?
Call it serendipity, call it a smart move, Jayde commented on an Instagram post of Lisa Messenger‘s moments before reality TV icon Kathy Hilton did.
But how did this simple interaction turn into such an epic international tale of beauty icons meeting? Well Jayde shared with beautyheaven that after commenting Kathy herself took to liking a few of her own personal posts (incredible), which then lead to Jayde making it her mission to find Kathy’s address, so she could gift her some Sontse products.
After a few “funny TikToks, asking (her) community to try and help (them) get product to (Kathy)” Sontse got a hit — thanks to super sleuth detective and Public Relations consultant Simone Marshall.
The Sontse team shipped off a care package to Kathy and waited, and after weeks of anticipation, it happened.
“Kathy had decided to give (the) Sontse Instagram page a visit, liking a few posts and then commenting on one simply saying: ‘I have sent you a DM 🙂’.”
We’re not squealing, you are.
Kathy and Jayde exchanged messages back and forth, which resulted in Sontse being invited to Beverly Hills to take part in Kathy Hiltons Beauty and Wellness event.
We don’t know about you, but we love a success story, especially when it’s an Aussie entrepreneur.

Sontse Golden Hour Self-Tan Mousse
Not sure about you, but when it comes to slathering our self in a sun-safe glow, we opt for mousse. Call us unadventurous, but the classic mousse consistency gives us just the right kind of coverage. But make no mistake, aside from the classic consistency, there’s not a lot else this brilliant tan has in common with the others. Enriched with a heap of natural skin-loving ingredients (aloe vera and vitamin C, to name a few), the natural-looking tan is a total game changer. Want to hear the best news? There’s absolutely zero fake tan smell here, instead, beautiful notes of rose take over. Oh and the fact that this tan has graced the Hilton’s is pretty major.

When it comes to tanning, exfoliation is key. The pre and post scrub down is real. Yep, if you’re missing this step in your tanning routine, it could be what’s missing. And even if you’re not a tan fanatic, exfoliating your body is a great way to slough away built up dead skin, helping your skin feel (and look) brighter and refreshed.

Do you use a fake tan? Would you try out this celeb-loved Aussie pick?
Wow would try it
Not a big fan of the tan.
Not for me but glad there are good options for those who used fake tans
I really like the sound of the Sontse Golden Hour Self-Tan Mousse. But not the Sontse Sun Lit Face & Body Tan Mist. Mousse must be smooth and easy to apply whereas the Mist goes all over I find.
I love the spray tans but yes you do have to be careful
I can’t be bothered with fake tan anymore, but if I needed it for some reason, I’d give this brand a try.
this brand sounds lovely
Yes I use fake tan -especially on my legs
I usually use a tinted moisturiser on my legs come the Spring. My legs being so white after being covered up during the winter months.
I need tint as my legs never tan well
I use a fake tan in summer.
I love the St Tropez and Bondi Sands products, but would give this a try to compare.
What a lovely story. I would love to try this tan!
The texture sounds lovely
would love to give this a go!
That does look very lovely
Never heard of this brand.
I’ve heard of this brand but I personally wouldn’t buy anything because Kathy Hilton had it at her event.
Never heard of that brand before
I’ve never heard of Kathy Hilton, but good luck with it.
I don’t need tan.
I don’t fake tan that often, but i like playing around with it and testing out. I really need to get into it more
