Since its inception in 2015, Sol de Janeiro’s Brazilian Bum Bum Cream has had a litany of dedicated fans.
And if you take a closer look at the formula, it’s not hard to see why this Brazilian-born body cream is so popular the world over.
What is Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream?
Enriched with a cocktail of guarana extract, cupuaçu butter and coconut oil, this richly-textured moisturiser offers a wealth of firming, smoothing and tightening benefits. Plus, it’s fast-absorbing and scented with an addictive blend of pistachio, salted caramel and vanilla.
As a culture, Brazilians spend a lot of time at the beach, without much on. It’s this unique cultural pass time that has given the world Brazilian bikini’s. Plus, the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream ($56.99 from Amazon Australia). The former exposes your bum when you’re at the beach, while the latter, keeps your bum looking beach ‘ready’. It’s obviously a match made in heaven.

The only thing we’re not a huge fan of is the price tag. A 230g jar of the stuff retails for about $57 or more depending on where you’re shopping. That’s why we were ecstatic when we found a more affordable option had just landed at Chemist Warehouse.
Palmer’s Brazilian Coco Whipped Body Cream ($15.99 from Chemist Warehouse) promises all the same firming, smoothing and tightening properties as its predecessor, but at a fraction of the price.
The newcomer boasts a formula that hydrates skin for up to 48 hours and is infused with a blend of guarana, açai, coconut oil, collagen and elastin. Plus, it can be used all over the body to visibly tone sagging skin, as well as improving the appearance of cellulite.
The moisturiser’s texture is smooth and nourishing, but lightweight and fast-absorbing to ensure you can get the most out of the body cream without it ruining your clothes.

Pistachio, salted caramel and vanilla sounds amazing
Palmers is such a reliable brand – their stuff always seems to work.
Yes Palmers has been around for a long time and usually delivers.
It’s a much more realistic price and Palmers is a dependable brand
An unnecessary product for me
It sounds amazing, I will probably try it.
Palmers makes lovely moisturisers
Wow, that packaging is too close. For an established brand, it is so strange they want to piggyback off another brand’s packaging so closely. Not cool.
It’s not something I need.
My backside doesn’t go on public view, but this sounds like a good body cream.
Love Palmers. Scents sound devine
No need, my butt will be kept firmly under wraps at any beach I frequent!
They don’t stock a big variety of Palmers products at my local Chemist Warehouse.
This dupe sounds amazing! and I do love Palmers products.
Hell yeah! So keen to try it
I would love to try.
