Revealed: the secrets to softer, smoother feet

Just to make this cold winter’s day a little more exciting, I have some news that will perk you up: spring is just four weeks away. Hooray!

I don’t know about you, but I’m so ready for the warmer months to arrive. – although I’m not sure how ready my feet are! They’ve been so busy hibernating underneath layers of socks and stockings for the past three months that the idea of open-toed sandals is scaring the life out of them.

This means it’s the perfect time to inject some life back into neglected feet – and there are so many tools available that can help you do just that. Simply consult our foot 101 guide below and you’ll be on your way to softer soles in no time.

1.) Emjoi PediSmooth Original – This all-in-one device buffs, cleans and massages the base of the foot. It rotates 360 degrees for about 30 times per second without damaging the skin. Such a champion tool. Sounds like a machine Batman would use, no?

2.) Revlon Heavy Duty Toenail Clipper – Toenails can sometimes be rather nasty to clip with a regular nail trimmer. This clipper does a great job at digging into the really coarse, tough corners of the nail with its sharp blades.

3.) Manicare Corn Plane – This corn remover is a winner for your feet. Made from sterile steel, this tool scrapes off dirty bits from the hardest part of your feet within minutes. Make sure you use it on dry skin only.

4.) The Body Shop Footsie Roller – Store this foot roller under the coffee table or work desk and roll your feet over it ever so often. It stimulates the blood circulation and really eases the foot cramps and aches.

5.) Ecotools Bamboo Moisture Socks – There’s nothing better than pampering your feet and these socks help seal moisture in. Put these on after moisturising your feet before bed and they’ll prevent your sheets from getting greasy cream on them.

6.) Crabtree & Evelyn Wooden Nail Brush – Use a this brush to ensure your nail beds are clean, dirt free and a perfect canvas for your fave polish.

7.) The Body Shop Foot-Shape Pumice Stone – How adorable would this look in the shower? Use a pumice stone on a weekly basis on hard skin to scrub off calluses and dry skin, especially around the heels and between the toes. Don’t be too aggressive with the scrubbing and move in circular motion.

8.) Manicare Ceramic Stone Foot File – Use this double-sided foot file to buff and smooth really rough surfaces of your feet. These are very gentle on the skin, so feel free to use them daily in the shower.

Which of these foot tools do you use regularly? And which ones you can’t wait to try?
