Most of us know Nicole Richie as the stylish House of Harlow designer, but there was once a time when the daughter of Lionel Richie was just a curious 12-year-old – who took a razor to her face.
Speaking to the COVERGIRL x MTV’s Got You Covered beauty panel in Los Angeles, the now 33-year-old shared a hilarious anecdote about a not-so-proud beauty moment.
“I was the last one of my friends who was allowed to wax my eyebrows,” she recounted. “So I decided, in the shower, to take a razor and shave what I thought was just the centre.”
And of course, what she ‘thought’ was the centre, turned out to be the entire inner of her eyebrows, so all that mini-Nicole was left with was the tail end of each brow.
“I thought my mom was going to cry,” said the now mother-of-two. “She was so upset and I didn’t know what to say. Keep in mind I was 12 and I’m a much better liar now, but I was like, ‘Mom, they just fell off. They fell off in the shower.'”
Of course, not long after this came the ‘plucked half to death’ brow trend of the late 90s to early 00s, so Nicole’s poor brows were hardly given time to recover.
We bet the bold brow trend is one many of us wish we’d predicted!
